You're right. Gender biases do exist. It's taboo for a man to slap a woman who has insulted him. It's also taboo for a man to admit to authorities that he has been physically abused by his wife or his girlfriend. In today's society, men are made to feel weak and inept if they admit to that.

Reported cases of domestic or sexual abuse (against men) has remained low because of how society is constructed.

But I do believe that strength comes into play here. If a women hits a man he typically is much more capable of walking away, pinning her down, or even blocking the blow. Again that depends on the women. But generally I believe if you can hit like a man you better be able to take it like a man.
