@speeddude66 No one saw it coming? Huh? Clearly you've only been listening to the bullshit in the media. They were always going to continue to be a top four side this year.
@Jim5H I wouldnt say 'team of the century', but it isnt a stretch to say they were up there with the best. They deserved three, they were up there for the majority of four. Brisbane might have done that earlier in the decade but Geelong absolutely dominated the competition all those years, which the Lions didnt. Geelong were (and still are) a force.
Its obvious this was the media slicing pre-match footage in, but I beleive (as an eagles fan) bomber has every right to be up his team, he has designed a perfect tactical template and possibly one of the greatest teams EVER! I would have loved to see the 06 Eagles play the 07 Geelong side, would have been epic.
Later that night I was in a club and my phone rang and it was my old housemate, she said that a couple of my 'mates' were in the back of her car.
She passed me her phone and it was Cameron Mooney, Paul Chapman and Max Rooke. The were very nice and took turns talking to me and giving me shit for going on holiday when they were coming to town.
I told Cam about Bomber with the sandwich and he lost it laughing for five minutes.
I was so bummed to miss the game, this made up for it
Interesting story about this. I am a Geelong supporter from Perth who never misses a Cats game at Subi and travel to Melbourne a few times a year to watch them. I was going on holiday and shortly after booking my trip I realised that I was going to miss the game. I was very upset.
The night of the game I was in Hong Kong and the Australia network was showing another game but a friend was online and telling me the score and told me about Bomber eating the sandwich in the box.
worst night of my life :(

this was not sliced in by channel 10. Bomber himself admitted that he ate the sandwich during the match.

Even so. id whip the sanga out during a game if i was bomber, hell if it was against the dees, he should give himself a run at full forward

Apparently he ate that sandwich before the game started but the footage was shown during the game.
