The President is protected by the best bodyguard service in the world, highly trained and they are VERY VERY good at their job, most likely planned for every possible threat. They are trained to notice people who are armed, concealed and obviously will see those who are showing off their guns in plain sight. It wouldn't be a scaring them as they would just keep an eye on you before looking else where. Even if you are not armed with anything, SS will be on the look out for anyone suspicious.

People not being allowed to carry doesn't create a protective bubble around the president, it's more protective having more valid concealed weapon permit holders around. people still have the right to protect themselves with or without the president around. Like previously mentioned, anyone that has the intention of shooting someone isn't going to obey the laws anyway, and they're the reason we carry.

As has been stated, "gun-free zones" only disarm the people we don't need to worry about. Proclaiming "no guns allowed" within a certain distance to the president would do no good to protect him, as the people who might actually try to harm him would not walk in with their weapons over their shoulders or in their hands. Further, a potential presidential assassin woud not be deterred by a "no guns allowed" sign any more than he would be by one that said "no murder allowed."

I think banning firearms in any place is wrong. Schools, bars, national parks, etc. You have a right to protect yourself. Until the government checks EVERYONE at the door how can they expect someone who is already banned from carrying, is doing so not carry in a banned place? Regarding TN carry in "bars", the bill was written to eliminate the law banning CCW in restaurants that also serve alcohol and not just bars as is ALWAYS stated. It is still illegal to consume alcohol while carrying a firearm. This is not the wild west as some like to quote endlessly. I like to go to Beale Street to enjoy the food and atmosphere. Once on Beale most of us feel safe, it is just getting there that is scary. Please use your brain to decipher fact from fiction.

Whereas I wouldn't be so bold to carry an AR anywhere on a public street, it should not be illegal to do so. I stay armed anywhere where it is legal, and I stay clear of "gun free zones". I think people should be allowed to carry guns if the guns are legally owned and concealed. I can't say that guns should be carried openly, like AR-15s on shoulders. It sends the wrong message. And since many of these demonstrations have turned violent recently, I think we have a right to protect ourselves.
