I bought it. I like it. Good for quick prcatice. Very cheap as a practice amp. Very versatile. If I was going to jam with a friend and didn't want to bring a lot of gear, as long as he has a speaker/monitor, I'd be set...

Obviously it wouldn't work well for real gigging. No foot control. Very canned sound, like most software based setups, etc...

But for what it does, it works well, at a great price. The app is a bit too unstable, but that should get solved with updates.

It is what it is. Not a replacement for anything. It is great at what it does - a small, portable way to get ideas down or practice, etc. anytime, anyplace.

As for IK Multimedia Amplitube 2 with the I-Pad... sounds like crap, and I know video doesn't capture sound as good as live, but this thing sounds like garbage. Sounds like a cheap $99.99 amplifier with some cheap ass effects bought at a second hand shop!

@NeckPickup I understand your point that he talked through most of this, but there's a lot of features on this program and he has to explain them. As for the sound, it didn't sound all that bad to me. Of course, it's not like the actual equipment, but this app would be a good "sketch pad" of sorts that you could use if you get an idea you waana try out real quick before you forget it when you get to your actual gear. If you go camping and want to take your guitar, this could work for you too.
