  • This is terrible. Hello how have you been? Not bad, I had a good day today though. Oh you had a good day? Yes I did. That's nice! What was today like? I went to the park today. Oh, you went to the park today? Yes I did, really helped my day. By being in the park? Yes, I like going to the park. I am special and I talk. Great job. If I walk outside and get wet, it's most likely raining. If not enough people hear you, not enough people care. We dont need any of you.

    Bild Zeitung and quality Journalism:D

    BULLSHIT

  • Ironically, free beer sometimes actually works as an advertising device.

  • hearing doepfner talking about quality content is like listening to a speech of the pope about the porn industry. pathetic

  • wow get a new spokesman, this guy is a bumbling idiot. i couldnt even get into the video.

  • social media and user generated content is in my opinion a discussion between the users and learning from each other. ...

comparing social media and free content with to get beer for free in the supermarket will miss the goal to understand what it (could) means.

  • do we need traditional ways to broadcast content? its a very good question.

  • Who produces news?

Are you that f*cking stupid? News just happen!!

  • No, she's not stupid. She's talking about the production of "news stories" (which in the news business is referred to as "news").

  • Comment removed

  • Yes, and this exactly is somehow very telling about their own misconception. Media corporations in the news business tend to think of themselves as indispensable because they actually think there would be no news without them.

  • I like Arianna Huffington. She's a smart woman. :)

  • i like her 2. but she is wrong. i love what she is saying. all three of them are wrong

  • So. What do you think is right? ^^

  • 47:38 That's why in his eyes, the internet need to be locked, and if you wanna something, "here you can rent it"!

  • 45:25 That's a plain lie! First you had it for free, now you wanna raise "walls" to make us to pay for them. But good, go ahead! Your "content" isn't that much worth, that I would pay for it.

  • 41:50 It IS a matter of "distribution channels"! It is about the old paradigma "only a few knew (and control) information" vs. "free information for all"!

The old media are driven by a few agencies and they FAILED to do their job (who is to spread the truth)! In fact, they helped to cover and manipulate the truth!

Against that comes the "guerilla" "journalist" who you can't control by one source, because there is no thing like "one source"! And because of that, you can't stop it!

  • 40:18 Interesting is, he didn't answer WHY it is good for him and his business. ^^

  • 39:09 Nope. There are people down there with a pc. I guess some are willing to tell us there point of view and to share some pictures with us. :)

  • 34:10 So, then the mass think your "offers" are worthless, because they tend to read blogs/vlogs more often then "traditional" media.

  • So they already made a choice!

  • 33:55 Yepp. There is not much sense in "leadership". There are leaders there, to turn of your mind and to take YOUR responsibility!

  • 30:40 Other question, why should it bother me, when I am not living there?

  • 29:25 And it isn't work! But no! It's not the time to think again about "your" plan of the "future"..

  • 28:35 "And in 10 years, people are willing to pay"

And when you need to force - pardon - "convince" them that they do so..

  • 27:57 "The internet is spreading stupidity!"

Bullshit! The clever ones own the world! Competition of the smartest rules!

  • The reason why they disagree is that the Axel Springer newspaper "Bild" is yellow press (and one of the worst!) - of course, this way of presentation is financially sustainable, because it is not information, but entertainment.

The Huffington Post provides serious, even high-brow content. In that market sector, traditional U.S. newspapers are troubled.

So, unless there is free yellow press online, Axel Springer will never get into trouble.

  • @paniq303 Actually, there IS free yellow press online, however BILD obviously caters to a target group of rather unintelligent people with low education and high brand trust. BILD is a cult to them, a really strong brand, kind of a symbol, an institution.

  • Döpfner shows 25.5% profit for Axel-Springer newspaper unit. "If print is a dead business, then this kind of death feels pretty good for me."

  • They could have a moderator who could speak more fluently in English. Great topic anyway

  • Of lately who can trust anything that comes out of Ariana Huffington's mouth. She has been very negative and devisive on her website and by trying to sway others with her political views. Her creditablity is sinking...slowly.

  • no it isn't :)

  • A very Euro Presentation. Very informative!

I like the French Lady showed a bit of skin but makes nice fashion statement with twist in her Media Pass.

  • why not make peeps pay for eros - thanatos and thereby finance quality? If that is what people really want, they really are ready to pay for it! I do not care at all about that crab - but quality, real good news, I DO care a lot about. Furthermore quality driven content is the essence of democracy as well.

Ever thought of this business model?

  • both very interesting content but poor video quality for a media forum
