@radicalsam Except he did do it. And then he hid behind all his "constitution" and other half-educated, misconstrued talk to justify his racism. Just like the real teabaggers do. The cops here didn't twist or go around anything.
They read him his rights, and they got him a lawyer when he asked for one. He walked out a free man.
@serotone9 , I don't watch these type shows,(regularly) nor have i seen this complete one. The point of using these shows to, "get people to cheer for the Constittutional rights of others to be violated". Would only work, IF the Character "Was Guilty", =(Point missed).
It would be hard to "program" the viewers into excepting others rights being violated, if at the end they were shown to be Innocent,(wouldn't it?) In real life they aren't always guilty when they bend the rulesto get them.
@radicalsam I understand what you're saying, but Homicide wasn't as cut & dried as that. That's 1 thing that made it so good. Watch the other clip I uploaded, "Gone for Goode," which addresses the issue you're talking about a little better. That segment contrasts the idealistic view of Bayliss, who's disturbed guy's rights might've been violated, w/"pragmatic" view of Pembleton, who knew guy was guilty &was only trying 2get confession.HLOTS doesn't come down on either side, but lets viewer decide
@MrJustice01 It was absolutely NOT racist against white people. Most of these "PC" cop shows are afraid to even have a plotline where a black killed a white. Homicide did it many times, and didn't try to preach or excuse the behavior. Characters like Lewis, Pembleton, and Giardello were just as human as Munch, Bayliss, Kellerman, Bolander, etc. There are def. shows out there that are so PC they never cast a black character in a bad light. Homicide was absolutely NOT one of those shows.
@MrJustice01 So basically, in your mind, because they dared to present the white cops as flawed, and the black cops as inspirational, the show is somehow 'racist' to white people.
From what I've seen of this show, none of the chracters, black or white, are perfect. You only see the flaws in the white characters because you're looking for something that's not there. the show was made by white people for God's sake.
@MrJustice01 They all had good & bad in them (BTW, I'm a Black woman typing this) Lewis: Cocky, only looks out for no. 1 Giardello: Decent boss, but also kind of angry and bitter. Pembleton: Snob, black&white thinker, his way or no way Bayliss: Compassionate, ethical, free thinker Gharty: Protective of Ballard? Don't care for him Munch: Funny, witty, realist Kellerman: Headstrong, cool hair? It's still a good show. And your usage of the word noob, what are you, 13?
Should've told him 'Shut the fuck up, Donny'.

Classic "programing" technque, get the viewer to: Wish ,and cheer for the Consititutional Rights of fellow Citizens to be violated.
We have Constitutional Protections, so the Innocent are Protected.
When the police:"Twist , go around ,or under the law to Catch someone.
It means, they could'nt do it by following the Rule/Laws /Statues.
This is exactly how innocent people get Convicted of crimes they didn't do...
These "programs" teach u to cheer for it..... Thats why it's called "programing"

Greatest cop show ever! So many great guest appearances: Lily Tomlin, David Morse, Elijah Wood, Bruce Campbell, Neil Patrick Harris to name a few

@MrJustice01 Why? Because they actually dared use Black actors?
MrLunitunz 1 week ago
@MrLunitunz Blacks:
Lewis: Strong, cool, good cop.
Giardello: The boss, quiet and responsible.
Pembleton: The coolest character, smart, fast talker, experienced.
Whites:
Bayliss: The worst, noob, sex pervert, child molested, rob attempt while drunk, gay, etc.
Gharty: Racist, angry, forever alone.
Munch: Funny but weak.
Kellerman: Cool but happy trigger.
