Ron Paul supporters don't want to seek a 3rd party route because they're pushing the strict conservative platform. The Republican party as it stands today has been hijacked from it's principles.
The more I have talked to delegates from several state caucuses the more I felt a bill of goods had been pushed on the party. They've feared a grass roots movement since Ross Pero. So rather then embrace a principled politician with a "cult following" they've chosen to ostracize him.
