there is NO self defense law in New York. I know from my own trial (I was acquitted in April 09')
in New York, you have whats called "a duty to retreat" which basically means you have to try to escape a situation. I was attacked in my home by a burglar whom I killed so duty to retreat did not apply in my case. my defense was "justification" I was justified in using deadly force to defend myself therefore the jury found me NOT Guilty !! I dont know how much my trial cost as I had an 18B lawyer. the court did NOT determine I was attacked, the Jury determined I was attacked and therefore they acquitted me. my trial lasted 8 weeks, I took the stand in my own defense but after trial, the jury said there was no need for me to testify as they were with me from the very beginning.

I had no other option other than deadly force because I (reasonably) assumed that my attacker had a weapon, therefore, I unleashed one upon him. also according to the law in NY, I can use deadly force to defend my home & family from a burglary.

youre right, she certainly seems dissociated. if didnt have to work, I would attend her trial to hear all the testimony. its been reported in the papers that her team of lawyers are dong a terrible job. she tried to fire them but the judge wouldn't let her.

unfortunately for Natavia Lowery, this video tape will seal her fate. on this tape, she's too calm and giving way too much information. if I was on her jury, I would find it hard to believe this was a coerced conversion. such a young and beautiful girl but she's finished.
