i mean i cant say i dont like this one,who doesnt like cute singing birds? but the one with iago and zazu was the one i grew up with, it was so interesting and the songs were fun 2 dance and sing 2. I was beyond dissapointed when i sat in and the show i grew up with was gone. I'll still go see it, but its no longer #1 on my to do list. They shouldnt keep changing things, they should play 2 versions or something. an if the original is in disney land, why cant we have the other one in disney world?
Thanks for posting!! I was like 15 when they closed down the original... I'll miss the Tiki-Goddess, she was awesome to watch.. but this will be cool to see again too. I always hated when the Tiki Room song got interrupted by Iago.
All you guys criticizing this show coming back in its (almost) original form have absolutely no appreciation for classics. I like the new tighter, quicker pace. The only thing I miss is the fountain. Everything else is perfect.
Sorry to see the show is abridged, but glad, none the less, to have it back. Yes, some day I'm sure there will be another "under new management" attempt, but let's enjoy this while it's here.
Oh, yeah... that was an improvement. That's what Walt liked alright, taking steps backwards. That was his motto y'know? He hated moving forward, and progress. (Heavy sarcasm implied.)
Don't get me wrong y'all, I'm not a mean guy, and I do think that this is refreshing, but we all know - somewhere deep down inside our souls - that Walt would be astonished that the parks have stayed the same as much as they have, let alone changing an attraction, and then taking it back to the way it was.
@mrdean3 Do you realize they changed it back to the original Tiki Room that Walt Disney wrote and designed HIMSELF? It is a tribute to the marvelous man by keeping one thing, that he did, the way it is. Also, the parks have changed lots, not in large ways but they have.
@softballfreako Buddy, I ain't tryin' to start a debate. I just feel - probably unnaturally - close to Walt, and think that he wouldn't give a s---t about the fact that he had anything to do with it. He wasn't a self centered person. He only cared about the value, quality - and whatever other words you want to use - of his projects. I just think that taking a step backwards, and opening up an old version of an attraction, is against a major thing that Walt stood for... and that's progress.
@mrdean3 Don't forget that Walt died before any of the Disney World parks were built, I think he would be amazed at what has been achieved (4 theme parks, 2 water parks, etc.). I don't think bringing the original Tiki room back is a bad thing, it's a nice tribute to Walt Disney, and many people enjoy the classics (me included), so why not give the guests what they want, instead of changing things for the sake of it. I say, leave the classics alone, but make progress everywhere else.
@menutia not only that it appears they cut out a little more than what Disneyland did (notixce how the fast twempo part of "Let's All Sing Like The Birdie's Sing" is absent yet it's in the Anaheim version
this is much better than Gilbert Godfried any day of the week.

Sweet. Great to have the original back...I don't mind the shorter, edited version at all.

Disappointed at how much has been cut from the original. It's only about half of the original show!
