You guys need better recording equipment! The 240p and whatever camera/audio device you're using doesn't do this great art form justice! Even a simple digital camera with HD video recording and a mic attachment, on a tripod, would be great!
@bingoace 'The organ console consists of six manuals with an array of stops and controls that command the organ. The organ's String Division forms the largest single organ chamber in the world. The instrument features eighty-eight ranks of string pipes The organ is famed for its orchestra-like sound, coming from pipes that are voiced softer than usual, allowing an unusually rich build-up because of the massing of pipe-tone families.
@bingoace Nothing can beat the sound of a church organ"
I guess you mean a cathedral organ. Most of them are truly awesome but the new churches built these days can't afford anything else other than an electronic organ which just don't have enough power to compete with a big pipe organ. Macy's store in Philadelphia previously Wannamaker's s the largest operational pipe organ in the world. It has 28,543 pipes in 462 ranks listen to it here /watch?v=1_8cqFtnU1I
I love this song. :) I'm a bit confused by the sibelius music on the linked website, it shows all but the last few (most important) measures of each movement. What should I do?
I live in Germany next to Mühlacker where you're going to give an organconcert in june. I'll try to be there to listen to you. I've worked at Rieger's for several months - good instruments!!! Your posted videos are great, good stuff from a professional - not like most of the others...
How do I get a partition of this piece? It's difficult to play but not but impossible... Haven't found it in the german stores, can you help me?
Thanks for posting that - what a neat grad present! It's actually nice to be able to see how the composer plays their own pieces, as here. Martin loves to hear when people play his stuff...
I've heard this piece a hundred times on my iPod so it was a treat to actually see a performance. The video was great, showing Martin as he makes the difficult look easy - the mark of a true virtuoso.
Played this as a postlude at my church this past Sunday and it was a major success. People loved it!
