Great performance, but the song is explicitly about England; I seem to remember a lot of Scots, Irish and Welsh lads also went to war in '82.

But that's churlish; Ms Jenkins sounds great and the RM band are superb.

We have very distinct cultural identities and over hundreds of years, we've developed those as a barrier to greater integration. In war, we are the United Kingdom. Listening to this Welsh Princess sing, I'm not driven toward nationalism, in fact, I only considered this reading your post. I believe our nations are indivisible until a politician tells me otherwise. And my wish is that they never do.

I will be there this year as well, I don't think I could ever get bored of the RM Band, My brother is a drummer so I go to a lot of concerts, looking forward to seeing him again in it this year.

It really is such a heart warming service. It has nothing to do with politics, glamourising war or the armed services, but it's a wonderful tribute to those that have given their lives in the line of duty.

These men and women signed up for Queen and country and these deserve to be remembered... regardless of whether you agree with any wars...
