  • Does anyone know the name of the track that plays when you fight Snatchers/Insectors?

Not that it's amazing or anything, I'm just curious because out of all the soundtracks I've seen for this game, that song is nowhere to be found.

  • Love this game, everyone who likes metal gear solid should play this

  • i would so love to hear/see daft punk do a cover and/or remix of this soundtrack

  • The song at 4:20 is Pleasure of Tension. You can find a pretty cool updated version if you search "Pleasure of Tension Best Version - Konami Kukeiha Club." There are a few great covers, too - I like the one put up by Steve26389.

  • 2:04 MGO!

  • DAMMMN thies music can build up some athmosphere

every single one of the first tracks can scare the crap out of me... and its sooo fitting

i mean even without the images they give you the feeling of some dark spooky future novel

  • why arent there more games like this!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Forgot to say, 'Cunninghaaaaaaaam!'

  • Yes ... a life changing game. The music gave a real depth to the atmosphere. One of the most immersive games I have ever played.

  • Shadowrun is another cyberpunk game with a good story and music. Nothing compares to Snatcher, though. I played this game at a young age and was blown away by the themes, images, and narrative. Totally immersive. Crazy to say, but it had an impact on my life. I've been into cyberpunk ever since.

Keep that information free, kids. The matrix is here.

  • the first song...i want it...any way to get it in wma or mp3?

  • you don't happen to have these in .vgm, or savestates for these locations do you?

  • Awesome music, like the first two especially! What are the names of those songs?

  • 4.20 Yeah baby! Still remember first time I heard that. :D

  • Some of the music is very remeniscent of the music in Metal Gear II.

  • oh kojima, you so silly

  • The music that plays when you're investigating an area still gives me the creeps

  • The music from when your outside a place you need to investigate (the second song on this video) is creepier IMO

  • nice job :D

  • It is possibly my favorite game by Hideo Kojima and incredible soundtrack too

  • Holy crap the only rip I've ever found of the Sega CD BGM was in 56kpbs mono and sounded awful. Did you rip this yourself? Could you possibly upload the MP3s to Megaupload/Rapidshare/Any other uploading site if these MP3s aren't already obtainable on the internet? That'd be much, much appreciated and you have no idea how awesome that would be.

  • If you want them, then just use windows sound recorder. You can capture audio from anything playing through the audio on the PC just by changing the recording options. Then it'll save as a WMA. Convert it to mp3 with a tool later. It's very easy.

  • I think the song at 4:20 would work pretty well with Phoenix Wright.

  • hehe I see a lot of people like the "you're onto something" theme at 4:20. definitely my favorite in the game.

  • yeah it's awesome :)

  • the song at 4:20 should be heard by every detective when they're onto something, the world's crime solving rate would triple

  • hehe awesome comment and so true. :D

a true detective should never forget to bring his iPod when going to a crime scene.

  • @msxlives and keep the song on repeat :D

  • @msxlives

"HEY! THIS is a CRIME SCENE! NOT a SOUVENIR SHOP!"

    "I know."

    "WHAT ARE YOU DOING!?"

"..Only listening to the best detective music ever."

    "BESIDES THAT!!!"

    "..*looks down*"

  • And the music at 6:18 is like my 2nd favorite ever LOL

    this game rules

  • this game is epic

    this game is art

    this game is gold

  • Word. =D

  • 4:20 is one of my favorite music ever in a video game

Anyone know the name for it?

  • Pressure Of Tension

  • is it just me or does 420 sound like metal gear 2 a bit

  • There is a clear similarity -- and it's horribly surprising inasmuch as it's also a Konami title apparently worked on by a lot of the same people, I think.

  • nice music and is it just me or does 4:21 sound like mg2 intro

  • Yep, the game still does it.....hearing the music and seeing the pictures, it just gives me goosebumps all over again.

The game was and still is a piece of art.

  • I love the music at 4:20, it's so suspenseful and creepy.. whenever it played you knew you were on the right track, but at the same time there was this uncertainty not knowing what was around the corner, or behind you.

  • yeah it's truly awesome.

whenever it plays, it always gets your blood pumping.

    thanks for the comment :)

  • Never realised you uploaded these tracks. Great job, my favourite tracks from the Sega CD version are "Restoration", "Pleasure Of Tension", "Pressure Of Tension" (Chin Shu Oh's speech to Random and Gillian at Queen's), "Faded Memories" and "Real Memory". All are incredible pieces of music, game or not. They really get my blood boiling when we find yet another plot twist! :-D

I bet you're looking forward to the Policenauts translation just like me, am I right? :-P

  • yeah snatcher is indeed filled with mindblowing music :-D

and it gets your blood boiling indeed.

i still remember how i was on the edge of my seat when i was playing it for the first time back in 1994 on my mega cd.

this game was way ahead on its time.

rightnow im still playing it and loving it.

yeah i can't wait till i can finally play policenauts, i always have been very interested in that game. :-D

  • is the game being translated? for what system? i always wanted to play policenauts, but all the versions are japanese and thus i cannot comprehend..

GREAT POST!! there was another game similar to snatcher but the art was more american style. anyone remember the name of that game?

  • Oh I think i know what game your thinking of.. Rise of the Dragon. It had a similar cyberpunk blade runner noir feel to it as well.

  • GREAT! thats the one!!! thanks!!

  • If your into those games you might also like Deja Vu which is a bit older. Not cyberpunk, but still a point and click noir detective game. Maybe Deus Ex. But that's more of a "bioshock" style of RPG/FPS that's got a cyberpunk detective theme and setting as well.. And if you like the point and click adventure there is of course Blade Runner for the PC-CDrom.

  • Oh man. Deus Ex is fucking amazing. (Unlike Bioshock), and so is Deja Vu. Nice taste.

  • what's up with the ladder
