Great post..Good to see the boys [2] back in action. Fuck the rest off 'em for not joining. If you got the singer who cares about 'em. It's thier loss. What are they too busy watchin' Bonanza.reruns.
I am so sorry to hear that.... Seems like all the good ones are starting to leave us... I saw them in their heyday in N.Y.C. The Hellava Band tour with the Holograms and magic box's they appeared on stage with at the start of the show.I still have all 6 of their albums but I sold the BUX l.p. As you must know Mickey and Punky were in that band and they did an early version of "White Lighting" on it..
Do you know for sure. I know that Micky Jones from Man died last year from a brain tumor. He was their guitar player .Ii saw them open up for Hawkwind and Can in '72. Where can I find out for sure?
WOW... When we filmed this, (with much thanx to Frank DiMino for allowing Geoff & I to! ) never in my wildest dreams did I ever think it would be viewed 14,400 times! For the record: the band was Frank DiMino-Vocals, Michael T. Ross-Keyboards, Randy Gregg-bass, Barry Brandt-drums, & Stevie Blaze-guitar. Also on the bill was STARZ.
Angel more or less reformed (at least with Frank and Barry) with hired guns on bass, guitar and keys five years ago or more. They did an indie album release and have been doing live work off and on since then. Steve Blaze is on guitar as indicated . Randy Gregg was on bass and I think that may be him here. Gordon Gebert was on keys for a year or two, then another guy took over. Can't tell much about the keyboard dept from this clip.
Damn it I live In San Jose I didn't know they were up in Fremont. I used to jam in a garage band we covered these guys back in the 70s. There are still a couple of their songs I know if they were remixed and not over produced could actually still sell today.
OK - BIG old Angel fan here. Who are these guys? Not like I like it. My cover band sounds better. But is that Frank singing? No Punky, Barry, Felix _ I mena anybody can okay that shit, be fat and old - but if Frank's there - THEY RULE!!!!
The tempo sounds too slow to me. Also, there doesn't sound like there's enough highs in the mix (too mushy)(although that might be due to the recording) I'd definately go see the recent version of this awesome 70's band. If Punky were still playing guitar for them, I'd go to GREAT lengths to see them live.

Punky's doing quite well in Virginia! Why would you say such a thing?! He owns a very successful tanning salon and is looking great!
rickyon 2 years ago
I think Punky retired and sold the salon.
