@GaryNull Yeah, I'll agree with that. I'm a bassist and I was like that at first where I would just play it like a guitar and it would suck. I attempt to solo sometimes now but it's a lot more jazz bass solo than like this, but to do something like this video and make it sound good you need a fair balance of the jazz bass and lead guitar, more towards the jazz bass because it's a bass solo.

I love the whammy on bass when used for a few seconds in a song, Justin from tool uses the bass whammy alot in cool ways. I gotta say I'm not really into it for something this long. But hey its different and better then seeing another slap video. I mean why would anyone want to learn how to slap, what are you going to to re-record the theme music for the jerry springer show?

it's good skill, but if a bass is going to be used for that, you might aswell play the guitar because in my opinion i feel that for one the bass is a 4 stringed beast, and it's not meant to be so tampered with and sounding like a dragonforce recording. but that's my opinion, although it was sick playing, but like i said, if a bass is going to be used for that you might aswell play guitar, it just doesn't make sense to me.

a guitar is a guitar but a six string bass isn't a bass its a bass with six strings plus it's in the tuning of a six sting bass not a guitar. If you are a guitar player its awesomer but the guitar has overplayed and has become overrated by untalented musicians who play it because its cool.
