I love how this serise sticks closly to the plot of the book. The film, however does not so I like it less.

it is interesting that the father of the children at brideshead finally returns when he is bad health. he never did want to be there and lived a lot of his life in venice to to me this is just some grand gesture to look good in his final days.

@ericnfan he left because he hated his wife and couldn;t divorce her, so he made his life elsewhere where she couldn't get to him.

This film is wonderful from the first episode to the last.

@sandyh59 I think the film is quite good as well and engaging. to me there is a bit too much julia and some out there side charactersbut even with those faults it is still well done.
