Merlin is just awesome, i can't stop watching it. I just find so sad that Uther had to die, special that way, now Arthur and Merlin will always blame themselves. And also i love Anthony Head and it's a great shame to see him leaving the series.

I'm so shocked :( I never thought he would go. I spent the whole last 5 minutes waiting for Merlin to figure something out to save him. Even Morgana was upset though, that was nice.

Now Merlin and Arthur have to live with the guilt of Uthers death? That's sad. What's up with the uncle though? I get his sister died, but why is he taking it out of Arthur? He should want his sisters son to be king instead of the witch using magic for evil. Blame evil witches. Not innocent nephews.

@eguo0124 They cannot tell Arthur about the necklace. That will give him more reason to hate magic like his late father. It is better to have a possibility that Uther's condition is too severe to be saved even by magic rather that letting the truth known that he is killed by magic. Merlin is trying to make Arthur to see the good side of magic where it can be used to save lives. He will have to find new opportunities to do it.

@MrLantean But wouldn't Arthur thinking that Emrys is evil (and therefore him not trusting anybody with magic anymore) be worse than Arthur not trusting Morgana? They already know that Morgana uses magic for evil, and to know that someone with magic genuinely tried to help Uther would restore Arthur's trust in magic.

Tbh, I think this was just a poorly concealed plot device. Uther had to die at some point and they just decided for it to happen now :P

@eguo0124 Arthur's dislike of magic is due to his father's influence. Uther taught him to dislike magic while hiding the truth that his birth is the result of magic. For him to try to use magic to heal his dying father symbolizes hope for magic in Camelot. At the moment, his dislike of magic appeared to be stronger but he also thought there is a possibility that his father cannot be saved even with magic. There is still hope for the reemergence of magic in Camelot.
