You might also want to try a DOSBox front end, like D.O.G. or D-Fend Reloaded. They allow you to use your mouse and tabs, etc to set up the game without having to know DOSBox commands. Just google "Bethsoft forums", "Daggerfall D.O.G. download" or "Daggerfall D-Fend Reloaded download"

Dude, Oblivion IS a melee FPS. Daggerfall and Morrowind used stat-based combat, where you had a chance to hit, miss, and block like other RPGs. Oblivion removed that and made it like a melee FPS, where you always hit the target, and you manually block.

There aren't a billion side quests in Oblivion. I was head of all the factions, and you can do it at level 1 thanks to the stupid enemy scaling. It was a FPS/graphics demo for console gamers.

Aloha, This sure is a great game. Only Morrowind was better, and oblivion is behind it. This game is a tad to big, especially when it takes me an hour to do a quest that requires me to go in a dungeon. Oblivion did not have enough content, such as artifacts (one of my favorite things to collect) and factions. I mean five factions. Wow compared to morrowinds like 10 and Daggerfalls 30 or so.
