One warning don't follow the technical parts of this kata, it's definitely not my best effort.

GKR first kata, although very similiar, is different, we do not raise our arm after the gedan bari (downward block). If you want to use videos to help with your childs karate, I suggest buying the dvds from you dojo.

this was great, i just started karate and was put strait into the intermediate class because i was too big for beginers, was told to learn this if i could, took me about 5 mins with this video :)

ther were some technical issues as of the front stances 1. his back heel was not facing forward 2.the technical correct way to punch is with a 45 degree angled fist as of your 2 large nuckles highr then your 2 smaller nuckles

Are there several variations of the heain shodan?

i have my 1st tag grading on the 28th of feb so ive been trying to learn the kata but there are so many different versions of it apparently and this one seems about right

This is the first kata for Goshin Ryu. e filmed this a pilot for our kata DVDs which go from 9th kyu to 1st kyu. This was filmed about 18 months ago along with a commercial. We filmed this in Sydney. I am the person performing the kata.
