Nah, I only do about 1 burger meal a month. My typical diet is very heavy on lean protein and fresh fruit and veg, very little grain/starch or dairy. It's called the Paleo Diet -- look into it, a great lifestyle change. These ads are great! It was interesting to see what the reactions of the local people were to a bunch of (mostly) Americans asking them to taste something they've never seen before.
This isn't exploitation. It's quite novel. Even the crew's eyes and minds were exposed to how welcoming and kind people were and how many (not all) were willing to try new things since they, just as us, wanted to experience cultures outside of their own.

These ads are great! It was interesting to see what the reactions of the local people were to a bunch of (mostly) Americans asking them to taste something they've never seen before.
This isn't exploitation. It's quite novel. Even the crew's eyes and minds were exposed to how welcoming and kind people were and how many (not all) were willing to try new things since they, just as us, wanted to experience cultures outside of their own.

For the people that talk about "of course they chose the whopper, this is a Burger King commercial" the study was researched independently and then sold to Burger King as advertising once the results were in. Upon winning and seeing the results Burger King hopped on board and hooked the team up with all the necessary ingredients to give out burgers to other people. Unless they're a remote Amazonian/African tribe or something like that (they live longer than most of us, you know). Fast food chains are already ridiculously spread even in the most inappropriate places. Ever heard of the Starbucks store, in The Forbidden City, that was eventually closed, years after its opening?

Dear Burger King , you plan to open at least 2 fast food joints in Romania next year , and you make such a commercial that even your target consumers would identify them selfs with these peasants (people who spend more in one week than the average American earns in one year). Romanians may be a lot of things but we invented patriotism and we don't trash the people still working the fields with their hands.

The Hmong Thais in this commercial are NOT as "pure" as BK wants all of us to believe. BK is exploiting the stereotype that the Hmong are no more than primitive "tribesmen", and therefore they have no concept of a burger. Far from it. The Hmong in Thailand drives Toyota Tundras, and can very tell the difference McDonalds and Burger King! Both chains can be found in downtown Chiangmai! Yes, the Hmong DO have a word for "burger," it's called "Ber-Gerh," in Thai. Hmong Thai have TVs too.
