@poleeed Well, yes and no. Usually the vaporizer still SOMEWHAT burns the weed, so either way, you're still going to get some of the carcinogens. This doesn't really count out the benefits of cannabinoids, however. There's tons of beneficial medicine that's FDA approved that's WAY more dangerous than marijuana.

@jeremiebad7 not necessarily. Marijuana isn't a medicine for everything. It's just a painkiller and can help treat certain diseases. It will have an impact on the medical industry for sure (especially with things like aspirin or Tylenol), but it won't even come close to wiping it out completely.

Granted In California it is fairly easy to recive a licence to buy marijuana at the dispencary, but they are also heavily regulated on the side of the Seller. A dispenary owner can have no violent criminal record or gang affiliations, and are required by law to make sure there product is safe and not tainted.

The gateway theory doesn't work. people say, for example, marijuana is a gateway drug. You don't go looking for more potent drugs after you start smoking weed, you just smoke MORE weed or something until you pass out. another example is alcohol. The only reason why marijuana can be a gateway drug is because it's illegal so people who want to buy it need to get in contact with people who sell it illegally and that way they come in contact with other drugs. But combined with some other compound, which was misspelled, produced very positive laughter-happiness effects. The second compound, I would guess, was CBD indeed. It would also be fairly difficult to hide the fact that you were schizophrenic by getting random occurences of fright in front of everyone.

He wants you to crawl back to him every couple of days for a new dose, because that wayhe can make a lot more money of you. @marciuksx exactly, it would not be a gateway drug, if it were legal. because people would not have to buy it illegally through dealers, who often sell different drugs and try to sell them to you also, especially since harder drugs are more expensive, there for the dealer makes more money when you buy them. so of course they are going to try and sell you them. that problem would be solved if you could go someplace legal and buy marijuana.

Marijuana is illegal because they can make more money if they control it. Also, some people thinks it helps cure cancer. Hell, i don't even like the stuff but my friends smoke it and if i were dying of cancer, i'd try hemp oil before I let one of those AMA butchers fill me with chemotherapy poison. Top Gear once did a segment where one of the drivers smoked a joint before racing. Came in 3 seconds under his previous time but said the weed made him a more relaxed driver and more focused.

@poleeed Well, yes and no. Usually the vaporizer still SOMEWHAT burns the weed, so either way, you're still going to get some of the carcinogens. This doesn't really count out the benefits of cannabinoids, however. There's tons of beneficial medicine that's FDA approved that's WAY more dangerous than marijuana.

@jeremiebad7 not necessarily. Marijuana isn't a medicine for everything. It's just a painkiller and can help treat certain diseases. It will have an impact on the medical industry for sure (especially with things like aspirin or Tylenol), but it won't even come close to wiping it out completely.

And i dont know about you but ive never heard of anyone getting going through THC withdrall (in fact i dont even think thats a real term) but i have heard of nicotene withdrawl, ive even heard of Cafine withdrawl. but never THC withdrawl.Oh and it would be wierd to say Ibuprofin is from crack, because actually its an opiate. (that means it comes from opium)

@dtpheif Ibuprofen is NOT an opiate! If it was it wouldn't be over the counter & it would be listed as a scheduled drug which it's not. And NO it does not come from opium (opium comes from specific poppy plants). The only time u can even come anywhere close to consider that true then it would have to be chemically compounded with an "actual" opiate such as: hydrocodone, oxycodone, or codeine making it "Vicoprofen" which is an opiate; otherwise like I said before, IBUPROFEN IS NOT AN OPIATE.

@iBlaze2much oh, and im not going to condemn from what criminals do, but i will defend dispencaries, who if they are caught lacing there products are shut down and given harsh sentences. Granted In California it is fairly easy to recive a licence to buy marijuana at the dispencary, but they are also heavily regulated on the side of the Seller. A dispenary owner can have no violent criminal record or gang affiliations, and are required by law to make sure there product is safe and not tainted.

@iBlaze2much no pot smoker smokes anywhere near the amount of a light cig smoker, most 1-2 packs/day(20-40 cigs) is an avg smoker. i dont think anyone in their right mind would smoke even a fraction of a pack of cigs of marijuana in a day, thats fucking extreme though to even smoke 20 joints in 3 days. on top of that, the medical benefits of cannabis. it treats cancer, far better than it could cause it. i dont want to argue or debate this though, my computer is f'd up and its a struggle to type.

The gateway theory doesn't work. people say, for example, marijuana is a gateway drug. You don't go looking for more potent drugs after you start smoking weed, you just smoke MORE weed or something until you pass out. another example is alcohol. When you were little you started with milk or water, then moved up to soda pop, then went to a few beers then went to hard liquor. In my mind the gateway theory doesn't exist. Only weak minded people who make the decision to use a drug and abuse it.

The only reason why marijuana can be a gateway drug is because it's illegal so people who want to buy it need to get in contact with people who sell it illegally and that way they come in contact with other drugs. So, the main argument against the legalization of marijuana is that it's a gateway drug, but it's only a gateway if it is illegal. If it were legalized it would stop being a gateway drug. Fuckin' paradox.

In the entire history of marijuana prohibition only one person has died from ingesting marijuana. He choked on it because he tried to eat it while being chased by the pigs.

@mrarches 9 out of 10 cases of lung cancer associated with smoking are caused by polonium 210, which is present in the pesticide that is required by federal law to be used on tobacco plants. Cannabis is not grown with this pesticide. Studies have been performed to show that Cannabis does not lead to lung cancer. Your argument lacks substance.

Oh God please legalize marijuana to make our lives easier, why do we have to hide ourselves? I believe its a real waste of everything just coz of a plant that makes us high!! whats wrong in being high? We harm no1, it might smell a bit but thats it. Hash smells nicer. I hope i'm alive the day they legalize it worldwide. All I wish for is to see everyone smoking in peace in the street and the city filled with beautiful marijuana trees that will give a beautiful perfume to our streets and us.

@maciejwrotek Psychosis wouldn't be an issue, if we legalized cannabis. With legalization in place, we could have professionals with licenses to grow our marijuana with a balance of THC:CBD. Since, CBD, the anti-psychotic cannabinoid in marijuana, negates the schizotypy effects that THC may induce in a vulnerable individual. Also, take into account that the majority of marijuana users have not experienced schizophrenic-like episodes, according to the International Reviews of Neurobiology 2007.

@zekdom I tend to agree. There is a movie "should i smoke dope", even available on youtube, on which it is shown that THC alone causes morbid mental effects. But combined with some other compound, which was misspelled, produced very positive laughter-happiness effects. The second compound, I would guess, was CBD indeed. Still we dont know if long term use wont cause mental illness eventually.

@maciejwrotek I remember watching a portion of that. I don't think it's credible, because they take a person that has never tried marijuana before, and gives her pure THC. That's like going out and binge drinking when you hit 21, but you never tried alcohol beforehand. You have to build up a tolerance. Well, CBD is an antioxidative neuroprotectant that builds up endogenous defenses against oxidative stress. I bet it wasn't tetrahydrocannabivarin, lol, and CBN is the less potent version of THC.

@zekdom Perhaps they want to hide this compound so people would not know how to enjoy cannabis. BTW CBD is not psychoactive, so why does it interfere with THC ? Also people tend to smoke long time, enjoying pleasurable effects of cannabis, then mental illness can strike. Why ? Because they finally got a hold of bad THC/CBD ratio cannabis ? Or because it accumulated ? And that is why tolerance also occurs ?

According to the Neurotoxic Journal 2008 and the Neuropsychopharmacology Journal 2010, the drug growers have excessively crossbred our cannabis to have higher levels of THC, and by accident, lower levels of CBD. Well, that's obvious. Since, THC and CBD fight for dominance. If one cannabinoid goes up, the other goes down. CBD is an antagonist for the CB1 receptor (receptor that THC agonizes to release a steady flow of dopamine into the cranial cavity).

Like I said in part 1, the way they went about "experimenting" with marijuana was poor. You start off with "low reg", and then you make your way up. It would've had to be CBD that accompanied THC. I hope we can continue this discussion, it's been a while since someone knew about the other cannabinoids.

The recent journal, Priscrire International 2011, has presented that the significant increase of pot use in Austrailia has not been accompanied by a marked increase of schizophrenia. Mental illnesses, in general, revolve around calcification, neuroinflammation, and plaques. Marijuana doesn't induce those things. The cannabinoids are anti-inflammatory, neuroprotective agents. Well, CBD more so than THC.

@maciejwrotek There are symptoms, and it would be obvious. I've never heard of people hiding their mental disease. My friend's grandmother has Alzheimer's Disease, she can't hide that. It would also be fairly difficult to hide the fact that you were schizophrenic by getting random occurences of fright in front of everyone.
