This guy is awesome; I just found the best group of traders around. They have the best stocks around plus free trading tools. There called 007stockchat you can google them.
@videocruzer no thats stupid because by that logic you could just say well what if the paper gets burnt or the gold/silver gets crushed. its nonsense.
i'm aware of that but i'm talking about scottrade, not ib. it is doable on ib trading highly liquid stocks with over 25k. cnbnc is part of it, but it is not at all comprehensive. you'll need something like TradeTheNews. I just don't want people with 1 k losing all their money on commission, spreads, slippage, and software thats all.
I really enjoy watching your videos and hearing your words of wisdom! I am 20 years old and want to become a day trader, I have read The Stock Market Course by George Fontanills (I noticed you didn't mention that book) and really took alot out of it.
Everybody really does try you discourage a job such as this like you say, because it is really breaking the mold but you are giving me the courage to not listen to them!
Will be starting out with 1k @ Scottrade > Living at home
assuming you use all your equity for every single trade, you need to make 1.4% per trade just to cover commission, not to mention the spread, trading expenses (charting software, news feed, etc), etc.
@muaytb1 commissions with interactive brokers are 1.00 per 100 shares, day traders only trade liquid stocks with a penny spread, quotetracker is really good charting software and its free, your newsfeed can be your television, what was the rest of the 'etc' ?
Thankyou with all my heart DayTraderRockStar your videos and advices have been invaluable to me Merry Christmas man. You deserve all the joys and blessings you recieve
thank you for posting this video. i used to refer to the day trading radio website when i first started trading for myself after graduation. a year later i am now working as a junior market maker trading wti oil and enjoy it. I am likely to stick at my market making job for another 5 months (1 year in total then) before I leave and trade for myself again - which is why I wanted to trade in the first place. Let the count down begin!!
1) A good entry (of which you already know to employ.)
2) A pre-planned exit. (of which you have already built the emotions and discipline for: A profit target, trailing stop, or stop loss.)
3) To be aware that its just all you, predicting something that one doesn't really know for sure HOW THE MARKETS WILL PERFORM FROM ONE MINUTE TO THE NEXT -- only that you DO THESE THINGS.
If you do it for a year with far less you can easily build up to far over $25K. - To make a living off of it - you do need a good chunk in the bank though. My suggestion - If you have to work - Sign up with Etrade - Trade from a Blackberry - It is how I started during my last job. And then when you ready - dump Etrade and go to a real site and do it full time.
I have a question, I am new to this investing stuff, but wouldnt you lose a lot of money with etrade because of the buying and selling fees from the hundreds of transactions every day? and what about taxes?
@acoma15 lose all your money trading, your car gets repo'd and you get kicked out of your apartment n move back home with mom... and your girl friend dumps you
the concept of working for yourself is great. but i can only think of the negatives of being a day trader - that is you're stuck in the house staring at a computing screen relentlessly for over 70 hours a week... does it not make you crazy/frustrated/bored once in a while? Sure, the money is coming in but once in a while you must miss having people working around you along with the energy felt on a real trading floor?
Dude fuckin awesome, ive been like tryin to learn some stocks but kinda unsure if i wanted to take the time to do it but after that video man im fuckin in, you had Travis rockin the drums man from blink how cant you love that shit.
Nevermind I found it. The Song if from ORBITAL called BEACHED...anyway I love Orbital! Favorite song from them is HALCYON ON an ON (from the movie Hackers!)

Good afternoon DaytraderRS,
I tried to respond to your message but kept getting an error message.
Thank you for taking the time to respond. For trades that I hold overnight, my poison of choice has been the SSO/SDS and UWM/TWM's. For a while now I've had little luck holding individual stocks overnight. They gap, but against me.
this guy is good he said he once made 40,000 dollars on a single trade

1 K at Scottrade day trading at $14 round trip? You will be broke in no time.
muaytb1 2 years ago
@muaytb1 Not necessarily, depends on the magnitude of your edge. Does stack the odds more heavily against you though...
...I was lucky enough to escape 6 months of trading with MyTrack, at $32 round trip (WTF!? lol), at the beginning of my career. Even made $200...lol.

TRADING PANACEA.
I HAVE THE HOLY GRAIL OF DAY TRADING.
So basic and simple, but tough.

Some of us already stare at a computer screen for that many hours a day, but for someone else.
I'd rather stare at a screen doing something than stare at a screen pretending to do something.
