Even with the indeterminate ending, this is one of the most original horror movies I've seen in recent years.
Oh, and Hollywood movies suck donkey nads. Their idea of a good horror movie is to saturate the audience with so much blood, guts and CGI that you don't notice that the script could've been written by a ADHD afflicted 12 year old on crack.

just watched it, loved it..as an American I dont know of many good British films like these, anyone have any recommendations that are similar to this film, or just a must-see..thank you in advance
@davewolves100 Ok, on Google search "Kill List", about the 4th link down there should be a link which says "Kill List: What's it all about then?". It gives an in depth evaluation of the film and it's characters and their role. This film in my opinion is easily one of the best horror films of 2011.
@mattyonline2 Thanks for that just had a look, mind you when you have to do that to understand the thing, the director is not doing a great job i dont think, never had to do that with any film before!!
Best horror film of 2011... the haters are just ill-informed and too busy looking for simple horror films that are ADD/MTV style or have their expectations far too high. This is the best British horror film since Eden Lake and The Descent. I'm glad the Brits are making a comeback since they've brought back Hammer films(true horror fans know Hammer.) With this, A Lonely Place to Die, Attack the Block and Black Death the Brits had a great year for horror.
@WhytockOfilms Oh yes. It's one of the best films I've seen of the thriller genre all year. I was absolutely hypnotised the entire movie and the scariest part is that you don't know where the director is going to take you. At first it seems like some sort of sitcom but with better actors, then everything goes downhill gradually in a downward spiral of paranormal and spine-tingling cinematography. A true gem indeed lads.
I watched this the other night. I really enjoyed it, but what was the ending all about. Do i need 2 watch it again? I didnt get the ending at all. If sum1 got it, please explain. Good film though
@david1991rules4life Jude Law, Kate Blanchet, Kiera Knightley, Hugh Laurie, Danny Boyle, Ridley Scott, Ralph Fiennes, Ian McKellen, Colin Firth, Ewan Mcgregor.... yes?

@Muckydoggy1 those movies you listed are not all British films lol. Referring to Iron Lady, it's 20th Century Fox. That's American. I may be about Margeret Thatcher, but that doesn't make it a British film
@caspertdc Not much interested in this convo', however having an American distributer for the US market doesn't make a film 'American'. That film was greenlit & made by Film4, UK Film Council (both Britain) & Pathe (France), was made in the UK, had a British crew, a British director, British writer, and a British cast (other than Streep). I think it's safe to say it's mostly a British film. Similar goes for the other films mentioned. Not that it really matters!
@caspertdc since when does the world make fun of British Movies/TV? Is that why America seems to do nothing but copy all of our tv shows? Is that why so many British movies win film awards? Stop throwing around petty, baseless comments, makes you look jealous.
@Muckydoggy1 it's why America remakes them into good shows. U all may have good ideas, but pulling them off is an entirely different thing. Give it up, you guys are like kindergartners competing with college grads..

Not a good mindfuck movie, NOTHING explains the end. NOTHING.
It's just a wtf moment. Makes no sense. And no, i'm not amazed by it in anyway, I just feel like I wasted 1 and a half hour for absolutely nothing. B monster movies gives you more than watching this.
– members of the cult only too pleased to sacrifice themselves to the cause, judging by the praise they heap upon him when he bludgeons them to death – gradually removing the final traces of his humanity, until finally he kills his own family and becomes… their leader? The Antichrist? Some big cheese in the cult, anyway.
I’ve read that it could be a dream or that Jay is in a coma, like Marabou Stork Nightmares. Maybe, but the most likely explanation seems to be that it’s a normal temporal story that tells of a death cult inducting the protagonist, ex-army boy Jay, as their new leader – presumably because word has reached them of something he did in Kiev. They hire him and his mate Gal to carry out hits on their kill list
Before I saw Kill List I read that people were exiting the film in complete silence, stunned by it. Now I know why. It was nothing to do with the violence or the kiddie-killing. It was because they were wondering what the fuck was going on.
This is very interesting movie that you have to see! Really people, go NOW to this video here on youtube /watch?v=0nyLAcWCDM4 and enjoy watching free movie Kill List!
What a terrible movie.....the "twist" if you want to call it that is EXTREMLY stupid......i put this right up there with eyes wide shut. I could have done alot with that hour and a half....I JUST finished it...
The ending and I wont spoil anything (dont read the comment below mine) is completely out of nowhere and is not explained at all. The first hour of this film is actually pretty good, decent character building yadda yadda and its all undone when this film literally jumps the shark at the end.
this movie was fucked up! he killed "the hunchback" who was just his wife with their kid on her back with a blanket covering the kid and the wife hunched over with a mask and they knife fight her and her husband and he ends up stabing the back of the hunchback and it turns out he just killed his own kid, fuck this movie, fucking crazy, like some wack secret society ugly fat tits small dicks out of shape bodies with mask on, reminded me of a horror video game when his friend died lol
there was a theme throughout the film, once you understand this you can appreciate the ending - am i the only one that got it or are people slating it because they didn't understand the ending?
@DisciplinOrDie - SPOILER! - the theme i was talking about was children, the vicar was likely a peado, the librarian was likely a distributor of child porn, and whatever happened in Kiev (innocents caught in crossfire?) led the occult to set in motion a sick plan for the main character to kill his own child - the first two targets on the hit list thanked their assassin before (and during) being killed, like he was some sort of godly super sicko! - just my take on it all
Why the maincharacter, because he killed innocents? His wife seemed to be involved in it, yet she killed some cult member when she didn't have too. This movie leaves to many question marks to be good in my opinion.
@DisciplinOrDie....did she kill cult members? - we didn't see who she shot properly, they were not screaming or wearing masks - they could of been police? - but yeah i do think she was involved - i don't think the money was the only thing persuading her to motivate the main character - she got chummy with the weird woman too!
Great films generate debate - i really liked this film
@DisciplinOrDie - good point - i heard someone else's view that we didnt actually see who she was shooting - the figures didnt have straw masks? - maybe it was police investigating the shots?
@alistairm0naghan Maybe that is possible, but if she really shoot cops then their creepy sect wouldn't last very long. To be honest I don't think there was a real idea behind it other than to confuse the viewers.
@TheBoulder92 I think she was in on it the whole time - she was constantly pushing him to do and finish the job (i dont think it was just for financial reasons), she laughed at the end in the same way that the kill list victims thanked the main character for killing them - I think at the end he was either so socked and said nothing or he just accepted his fate as one of the sick cult members - whats your opinion?
@alistairm0naghan yes i agree..it was the laugh that confirmed it for me...also what do you think about their son? he was part of the hunchback, yet he made no noise nor did he shout out to his dad or anything. When they were unmasked he wasnt gagged or anything
@alistairm0naghan The wife was not in on it. The writer/director gave a talk yesterday at IFC here in NYC, and he said that her laugh at the end was out of shock and at the madness of the situation.
@kittzykk death note is the care bears to this film i actually felt dirty after watching it and it has nothing to do with demons or back problems well a little back problems but still see this film its fucked up
The end was so unusual Im happy he didn't like just sob or cry down onto his knees.....his face would have probably been the actual thing you would do if that where to happen. I mean the whole situation was a big wtf......so that just...that just really made it all come together.
That ending actually...was very similar to the paranormal activity 3 ending. I think. I mean I won't get into too much detail....ruin it for those that haven't seen it, but very similar.
This is a seriously fucked up movie; often-times I worry about commenting on things like that in case it makes people want to watch it, but if you appreciate that default glimmer of hope and beauty in life then do not watch this movie. I was already going bald and the stress from watching this movie is not going to help one bit. Go watch The Shawshank Redemption; you'll feel a lot better.
family domestic.....dinner with friends........wierd man cutting his hands......kill a priest.......kill peodophiles????.....bury the Cat...very upset........ur going mental........next job kill an MP in a stately home......kill a rabbit......find a cult......think they are vampires because of the way they scream.........back home.....give the missus a gun.....here comes the cult....your now in the cult......fight the hunchback.....applause.....the end. = BRAIN HURTING!
The ending really disappointed me, I don't like to be left with unanswered questions. I think even just another 10 minutes would have been enough to really end it.
But all round it's a great film.
And i'm absolutely convinced that the body parts he finds on the floor are the family cat, because you never see it again, but I'll leave that open for speculation ;p
Was really looking forward to this but wow, what a disappointment. First half was interesting but the ending, awful. Poor mans Wicker Man. Really disappointed.
Okay, someone just compared it to Wickerman with guns. That just assures me that my original presumption of this film was correct; Nonsensical and stupid, with some violence and gore mixed in. If you liked the Wickerman, you have NO taste in movies and obviously are on the total end spectrum of taste in movies!
@beckoninglight16 You do know that people are referring to The Wicker Man from 1973, not the awful Nic Cage version? The 1973 film is great and so is this film. Trust me.
I don' t see how this clip makes the movie look interesting or even amazing. It looks very vague and unappealing, especially since they share little to no details about what makes it so "disturbing". It kind of reminds me of the Wickerman. Yeah, disturbing in a VERY stupid and nonsensical way!
Watched this yesterday, I challenge ANYONE to explain the plot to me, I dont have a fuckin clue what the crack is???? Some VERY violent scenes but overall the film is shite, mainly cos I dont have a scooby do what was goin on, especially the end!!
This trailer looks quite lame, if I may be honest. Though, I now wonder how this movie gets such reviews. Now I want to see it. Smart people, those british.
the most engrossing film I've seen in a good while - looking forward to a second take. that said, I can understand why folks raised on by-the-numbers toss can't stand it...
Ignore the comments about this film not making sense, The haters should try paying attention. We brits don't need Hollywood endings or our films dumbing down. We're perfectly capable of applying some concentration and thought to our film watching thanks very much... I'm guessing that the guy further down this thread calling for 'ramboing the fuck out of the guys at the end' is American.
it's perfectly paced, acted and written. Disturbing ending to say the least. Best horror I've seen in ages.
CREEPY AS FUCK, loved it.. Fuck the haters they said the same thing about Down Terrace (his first film) and that ruled too. That being said I need to appologise to my girlfriend for making her watch it lol
Quite a bizarre movie, the production is very good, the storyline is just way to twisted/obscure/unclear... but I guess that’s part of its charm. Worth a watch.
IT'S PRETTY PREDICTABLE WHAT'S GOING TO HAPPEN BY THE TIME YOU GET TO THE HUNCHBACK SCENE. I DID THINK IT WAS GOING TO BE STR8 ASSASSIN CONTRACT KILLING TYPE OF MOVIE FROM THE TRAILER THO. NEVER SAW THE SATANIC CULT COMING, THAT CAUGHT ME OFF GUARD. BUT AFTER WATCHING THE MOVIE....... A SERBIAN FILM.......NOTHING SHOCKS ME ANYMORE.
Anyone is scare of the movie? ^.^

this movie was fucked up! he killed "the hunchback" who was just his wife with their kid on her back with a blanket covering the kid and the wife hunched over with a mask and they knife fight her and her husband and he ends up stabing the back of the hunchback and it turns out he just killed his own kid, fuck this movie, fucking crazy, like some wack secret society ugly fat tits small dicks out of shape bodies with mask on, reminded me of a horror video game when his friend died lol

there was a theme throughout the film, once you understand this you can appreciate the ending - am i the only one that got it or are people slating it because they didn't understand the ending?
alistairm0naghan 1 month ago 8
@alistairm0naghan I saw it from the off, the tall woman in white.
CrazyEddi3 1 month ago
@alistairm0naghan explain, as a pm or just rply
DisciplinOrDie 1 month ago
@DisciplinOrDie - SPOILER! - the theme i was talking about was children, the vicar was likely a peado, the librarian was likely a distributor of child porn, and whatever happened in Kiev (innocents caught in crossfire?) led the occult to set in motion a sick plan for the main character to kill his own child - the first two targets on the hit list thanked their assassin before (and during) being killed, like he was some sort of godly super sicko! - just my take on it all
alistairm0naghan 1 month ago
@alistairm0naghan Well yea but it does not make sense.
Why the maincharacter, because he killed innocents? His wife seemed to be involved in it, yet she killed some cult member when she didn't have too. This movie leaves to many question marks to be good in my opinion.
DisciplinOrDie 1 month ago
@DisciplinOrDie....did she kill cult members? - we didn't see who she shot properly, they were not screaming or wearing masks - they could of been police? - but yeah i do think she was involved - i don't think the money was the only thing persuading her to motivate the main character - she got chummy with the weird woman too!
Great films generate debate - i really liked this film
alistairm0naghan 1 month ago
@DisciplinOrDie - good point - i heard someone else's view that we didnt actually see who she was shooting - the figures didnt have straw masks? - maybe it was police investigating the shots?
alistairm0naghan 1 month ago
@alistairm0naghan Maybe that is possible, but if she really shoot cops then their creepy sect wouldn't last very long. To be honest I don't think there was a real idea behind it other than to confuse the viewers.
DisciplinOrDie 1 month ago
@alistairm0naghan whats your explanation of the ending then? I have ideas but id like to hear someone elses opinion
TheBoulder92 1 month ago
@TheBoulder92 I think she was in on it the whole time - she was constantly pushing him to do and finish the job (i dont think it was just for financial reasons), she laughed at the end in the same way that the kill list victims thanked the main character for killing them - I think at the end he was either so socked and said nothing or he just accepted his fate as one of the sick cult members - whats your opinion?
alistairm0naghan 1 month ago
@alistairm0naghan yes i agree..it was the laugh that confirmed it for me...also what do you think about their son? he was part of the hunchback, yet he made no noise nor did he shout out to his dad or anything. When they were unmasked he wasnt gagged or anything
TheBoulder92 1 month ago
@TheBoulder92 The writer/director said the wife wasn't in on it.
SouthernNYCga 3 weeks ago
@alistairm0naghan The wife was not in on it. The writer/director gave a talk yesterday at IFC here in NYC, and he said that her laugh at the end was out of shock and at the madness of the situation.

The end was so unusual Im happy he didn't like just sob or cry down onto his knees.....his face would have probably been the actual thing you would do if that where to happen. I mean the whole situation was a big wtf......so that just...that just really made it all come together.
CrudehumorT3T 1 month ago
That ending actually...was very similar to the paranormal activity 3 ending. I think. I mean I won't get into too much detail....ruin it for those that haven't seen it, but very similar.

This is a seriously fucked up movie; often-times I worry about commenting on things like that in case it makes people want to watch it, but if you appreciate that default glimmer of hope and beauty in life then do not watch this movie. I was already going bald and the stress from watching this movie is not going to help one bit. Go watch The Shawshank Redemption; you'll feel a lot better.

It's good, up until the end.
The ending really disappointed me, I don't like to be left with unanswered questions. I think even just another 10 minutes would have been enough to really end it.
But all round it's a great film.
And i'm absolutely convinced that the body parts he finds on the floor are the family cat, because you never see it again, but I'll leave that open for speculation ;p

loved the film shame about the fucked up ending
wevsky 1 month ago
Okay, someone just compared it to Wickerman with guns. That just assures me that my original presumption of this film was correct; Nonsensical and stupid, with some violence and gore mixed in. If you liked the Wickerman, you have NO taste in movies and obviously are on the total end spectrum of taste in movies!
beckoninglight16 1 month ago
@beckoninglight16 You do know that people are referring to The Wicker Man from 1973, not the awful Nic Cage version? The 1973 film is great and so is this film. Trust me.
joesixtyfour 1 month ago 3
@beckoninglight16 ... but in your comment before you even referred to it as ...'kid of reminds me of the Wickerman'
Muckydoggy1 1 month ago
I don' t see how this clip makes the movie look interesting or even amazing. It looks very vague and unappealing, especially since they share little to no details about what makes it so "disturbing". It kind of reminds me of the Wickerman. Yeah, disturbing in a VERY stupid and nonsensical way!
