  • On of the greatest westerns of all-time in my opinion !!!

  • The most beautifully photographed Western i've ever seen...and truly a underated classic...McQueen Rules

  • I think another Western movie was from Charlton Heston's film - Will Penny, (his personal favorite). The short vocal peice at the end title is fantastic. When I first listened to the soundtrack it gave me an idea for a mystery drama set in modern times, yet focused on a man's missing past. A kind of homage to The Fugitive, and Run for You Life. Although, that one might be unknown to most of you.

  • This is one of the finest Western Themes there is.It has the hard driving young man out to avenge his parents, with help along the way from wise old hands.I would love to see a remake, but I think Pit is to old. It shouldbe a young man, maybe an unknown, Someone not so cool and knows it all, someone more like Max's character was.

It would be good, set in the past or in the present.

  • A few more actions scenes and this mat have been the all time classic western

  • my fave cowboy music film

  • I have to disagree. Steve McQueen was a great screen presence. True they could have cast a male ingenue in the first scenes and then resorted to the old standby caption "ten years later", but would that have made the movie better? McQueen doesn't look ridiculous as the young Max Sand, a close shave and Hollywood make up does the trick., Apparently you're not a fan nevertheless there was a reason he was and still is a much admired star.

  • Magnificent musical score for an absolutely fabulous movie! He puts you "right there" for all us fantasy cowboys. God Bless Steve Mcqueen, the whole production and Alfred Newman...!

  • I watched the movie today just to hear the music. It's been years since I felt those good feelings.....Thank you for making the music available. Another beauty is the Raintree County theme on the album "Songs from Great Films "by Hermann Clebanoff.(not a Western,Civil War setting)

  • You may want to rent Legends of the Fall with Brad Pitt. Not only was it a great movie but it may have been his best work. The amotional scene's he did got your attention.

  • I would like to see a remake of this film. Maybe Brad Pitt playing Steve McQueen part.

  • @thebox51 I've got to part company with you there. This is one of the few films I would mind seeing remade, but with only one change from the original, someone who looked the part and could act instead of Steve McQueen. Brad Pitt would be more of the same. I can't think of anyone among today's male actors that would work.

  • the first comment says it well-- this also was them heart of the great music of the 1950.s whichswelled the heart with emotions, it too was asimportantas nrock and roll and i was there for the birth of both -- great music

  • Great theme written at a time when movie music was an important part of the craft of movie making, not like today's crap. Just one criticism (minor), this version seems a tad too bassy, unlike the OST.

  • a beautiful music and a great film

  • Magic music..Sorry for the last comments, i forgetten something
