I'm more amazed of the speed on the last 5 km in 09. When I compare '02 with '09 climb on Ventoux, I see that the best was only 9 sec. slower than Armstrong was in '02. The difference is, in '09 they took it esealy because of Andy Schlecks brother, Fränk. In danish TV it was described as fantastic how fast Armstrong did Ventoux in '02, but also how slow it was done in 09. And the diff. was only 9 sec.Maybe I'm wrong, but I belive, the best had access to more efficient methods in 09 than in 02.
