@jithin000 If you're not going to fake it like I did in these examples, you'd need to use final gather or global illumination (preferably both). I haven't used Mental Ray in a little while, so I don't know if there's some new feature that handles that... irradiance volumes?
@vvgiri007 I just had a quad core with 2GB RAM. If you're using an out of the box renderer, the setup isn't that important. You just need enough RAM to avoid texture swapping, and the fastest processor you can afford.
There's always those comedy seconds! At the beginning and the end... love them !!Finally we'll have seen every part of your house with those podcast...LOL.. love the piano by the way!!!
GI is cool but takes forever to render. Cloudy with a chance of meatballs was the first animated feature I know of that used GI extensively, and they had a dedicated GI rendered and a massive render farm. We had 2 quad core machines running mental ray.
is there any way to create color bleeding pass in maya mental ray

I`m making a chort animation, hope better than the first one.
how many machines do you had at the render time?

Most of the time it was just one, but I did have a second machine for a short time at the end.
