I gotta say, I'm really suprised that Bendis went 1 for 3 with an RBI double on these reviews. I was certain he'd do an Alfosno Soriano on all three books.
BTW, are you guys gettin' kickbacks from Redbull and 7-eleven. I always get thirsty watching these vids.
I think Marvel pushes 'hetero' sex so that human sexual reproduction will occur, virtually guaranteeing future audiences of Marvel zombies. If Marvel did Broadway shows or interior decorating, then, you'd see lots of 'homo' sex being pushed in your face. I think I mean that in a good way. Logic. It works when you let it.
Check out our blog if you haven't. Every week our readers and I let each other know what we are buying. It's a good place to see what books are out there that you may be missing. I do the post every Tuesday and its called "Who's Getting What This Week?"
That's right! I will admit, I keep forgetting about the blog. But without both of your soothing voices I'm not sure it will be as good as the channel. But I'll give it peek tonight.
How long was Bendis reprinting his newsarama interviews in his Powers books? Wonder what the fanboy reaction would be if he did that in New Avengers and Dark Avengers?
I doubt any of his fans would notice, his stories in NA/DA is pretty much Bendis talking too himself in various characters voices. Except John Suintres is the Sentry
i have to agree with you E i was disappointed too i was psyched to have this book back its been one of favs since it started but i found it sort of mean spirited and the 50s rat pack flash back didnt seem to jive with everything we know about walker and his past. ok the save grace was walker was dino always my fav rat packer but he took his hero and made him an obnoxious jerk and walker has never been that. plus after well over 100
This issue was almost as bad as the monkey sex issue.
It had everything that was bad about bendis writing and nothing that used to be good. Even Oemings art was looser, like he didn't care for this too much.
When we come back, we will go to more safe enviorments, namely books we look AGH ELLIOT YOU #$%@BAG, NO JUST KIDDING JUST KIDDING-)!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I had to do that, no way I could resist, all in the name of fun!
is it safe to come out behind my rock now??? lol im surprised however, 2 strikes from bendis but you guys actually liked one of the *claps* teeheehee :D look forward for the next round!
I remember first reading Powers, mind you i read USM and some of his other mainstream stuff first and I'm like wow he copies himself... a lot. I'm actually considering making a list about how many movies and what movies he's taken a line of dialogue from, makes a reference to, etc. It would be a long list... especially since I have about 200+ Bendis books (mostly his good stuff).
so powers is good ?

I'm not comfortable with Marvel pushing Heterosexual sex in my face. I find it offensive and detrimental to our society as a whole.

It feels like there has been a number of indy books coming out in the past two weeks or so, any direction in which are the worthwhile ones?

Chew, of course, but we're always talking that book up. Plus it keeps John Layman off the streets.
