A real good interpretation which can be shown anywhere. Also the orchestra and the conductor does a very good job here. The effort done in Japan concerning classical music in the last 5o years gives these astonishing results now. Very young musicians of good quality. China also is on its way to form good musicians. But it will take some more years for them to reach the japanese level. European culture will survive through asian musicians....

I take a back seat to no one as a devoted fan of Aimi, but this recording is not first rate, either because of the deficient acoustics of the hall, the placement of the mike too far from the piano, or both. Compare the audio of this piece with the YouTube audio of her performance of the Mozart " Coronation" Concerto several years previously with a larger orchestra. (It has over a million hits!) Her performance of the cadenza in this current piece does show off her incredible talent.

I started thinking that her Mozart is truly incredible, even more than her Chopin. General public often gets drawn to Chopin when it comes to a pianist, partly many of them are nice party music (which is of course amazing on its own). Mozart music is more difficult. Aimi hits the core of Mozart. Her interpretation of Mozart drives almost total soul out of you, I am totally moved. I am looking at music scores and wonder what she saw in them. Do you have more clips of her playing Mozart...?
