Governments tax and spend and as the constitution establishes government it logically must allow for taxation and spending. It doesn't make it unconstitutional, and your arguments don't amount to anything more than populist angst about the economy. And a hysterical fear of federal government.
@beamla Yes, there are checks and balances in the Constitution to limit power, and Yes it does allow for taxation and spending, but it DOES NOT allow for over taxation (Which kills the small businesses, which make up 80% of our Economy) or excess spending that puts a liability/restraint on future generations. @BornAgain923 The constitution does not allow for tyranny. But it is a big stretch to label "over" taxation as tyranny. Firstly you must define what "over" taxation is. The definition would be different for each person and frankly no one likes paying tax. The budget must be cut to get out of deficit, but cutting too many taxes without care would keep the budget in deficit. A better focus would be to look at spending more efficiently and cutting waste, that problem is different to "socialism".

As far as I can see people still have freedom of religion, speech and the other core rights. It is impossible to preserve core human rights without a stable civil society and without a functioning government it is hard to have a stable civil society. If you indiscriminately attack taxation you are ultimately attacking civil society.

@beamla You really need to research this stuff. The reality is that buisness owners are holding on their money because they don't know what the tax rate will be come April 15, 2011. I'm a small buisness worker and my employers are not hiring, not cause their selfish, but because if they hire more people, they may not have much money for themselves and their own families.

@missles518 Well, they are waiting to see what happens. I think small businesses should have low taxes as compared to larger businesses. But I still think that if the Govt wants to fix the deficit, it can't go nuts and give away ineffective tax cuts, that would ultimately make the budget worse. And I don't believe that massive untargeted tax cuts would create huge economic benefits.
@missles518 And taxation is not the same as communism. Taxation is needed for the government to pay for the things the private sector cannot fairly profit out of through business models - like the military, police, fire, public schools etc.

@missles518 It's more complicated than that. It is not penalizing someone by taxing them more if they earn more, it simply recognizes the need for them to contribute more. If I earn 200,000 a year I need to pay more tax than the guy earning 20,000 a year, I will still have more money after tax though. A lot of problems, including political problems in the US can be traced back to the huge disparity in wealth. Despite the promises of making everyone rich since Reaganism it has not happened.

Lottery Winners are rich, but only for a few months, UNLESS THEY ARE SMART and Buy a business, If we raise taxes on the president of a huge business, They will have to lay off a lot of workers that were doing well.
@missles518 If tax rates are obscenely high (eg- 70%) then yes the wealthy would heavily try to avoid it, but if it's 40% the case is less so. Besides, there is a limit to how much you can avoid tax, if you like prison.
Smart governments don't raise taxes on the lower end. That's great that the rich work really hard, but they are still expected to contribute to the budget. Also, the wealthy benefit more from the protection of the law than others do.

Governments tax and spend and as the constitution establishes government it logically must allow for taxation and spending. @BornAgain923 The constitution does not allow for tyranny. But it is a big stretch to label "over" taxation as tyranny. Firstly you must define what "over" taxation is. The definition would be different for each person and frankly no one likes paying tax. The budget must be cut to get out of deficit, but cutting too many taxes without care would keep the budget in deficit. A better focus would be to look at spending more efficiently and cutting waste, that problem is different to "socialism".

@beamla You really need to research this stuff. The reality is that buisness owners are holding on their money because they don't know what the tax rate will be come April 15, 2011. I'm a small buisness worker and my employers are not hiring, not cause their selfish, but because if they hire more people, they may not have much money for themselves and their own families.

@missles518 Well, they are waiting to see what happens. I think small businesses should have low taxes as compared to larger businesses. But I still think that if the Govt wants to fix the deficit, it can't go nuts and give away ineffective tax cuts, that would ultimately make the budget worse. And I don't believe that massive untargeted tax cuts would create huge economic benefits.

@missles518 It's more complicated than that. It is not penalizing someone by taxing them more if they earn more, it simply recognizes the need for them to contribute more. If I earn 200,000 a year I need to pay more tax than the guy earning 20,000 a year, I will still have more money after tax though. A lot of problems, including political problems in the US can be traced back to the huge disparity in wealth. Despite the promises of making everyone rich since Reaganism it has not happened.

@missles518 If tax rates are obscenely high (eg- 70%) then yes the wealthy would heavily try to avoid it, but if it's 40% the case is less so. Besides, there is a limit to how much you can avoid tax, if you like prison.
Smart governments don't raise taxes on the lower end. That's great that the rich work really hard, but they are still expected to contribute to the budget. Also, the wealthy benefit more from the protection of the law than others do.

But that doesn't get past the fact that people who earn more are expected to pay more tax. It's a dangerous myth that has been re-spun that tax cuts will help everyone. They are not the solution to all the problems. Furthermore, businesses (and therefore jobs) cannot survive without a stable government and educated workforce.

The medium is hip hop or rap, but the message is conservative, so I'm just a tad confused. Why didn't you do it via "country music?" I mean according the conservative ideologues that make up the Texas School Board, hip hop is not a historically significant music genre in the US, but country music should be noted in textbooks. So, by their very claim (people in your own 'party' or ideological group), you have made your claims via a meaningless medium. Sorry.
