I still remember how upset I was when Dickinson covered this on the B side of the "Number of the Beast" single and how DiAnno's version had more passion. At that time I didn't want to hear Bruce sing it. I see now I was wrong. This performance is the most passionate version of this song I've ever seen. It brought me to tears. This is now my favorite RT performance.

Dickinson's version and the version of Di'Anno are equal in quality. But they are two reasons why that of Bruce is much enjoyable to listen: 1) Every time I hear the voice of Paul, I keep saying to my mind, "Hey you are listening to an asshole" 2) His voice is overly "emotional" and does not match the style of Iron Maiden.

Why didn't record again the first two albums ? Otherwise, why didn't remaster the first two albums with dickinson's voice ? Now they have the right to do so...

These 2 guys are amazing vocalists..icons and legneds. Bruce has a wider range, go from his lowest notes to his highest and that is pretty evident. Ronnie sang with more..what is the word? balls? I think that makes my point. I've seen them both front row..and tried to learn their parts.

I absolutely agree with you on ronnie, he used more of his vocal range than Bruce usually does.

The thing is bruce CAN fill that range. In the context of Maiden he sings high almost all of the time...it is the sound of the band. Look at the way he talks to the crowd in this vid...he rolls into a high range. I dont know if you are a singer but singers know that if you can hit the notes like Bruce does and sustain them you will be able to control the mid ranges as well.
