Althought they really dont animate it the way they should the Gunstar from last Starfighter and even the Eagle From Space 1999 sported MD thrusters.... Heck It was even nice to see they addressed the problem in the New Battlestar Galactica haveing the vipers do Zero G manuvering.

its no good ...in a real world situation it would make to much flow noise and all of the guns and things on the deck would have too much drag on it. also sonar or any kind of sounding equipment would have a field day with it. heat loss and magnetics would be bad too. but its cute in its own way.
