Gears is, in a way like the Halo series is to me: you to some supplement to know what the hell just went down. Now people can clearly see what happens in cut scenes, but they sure as hell don't know the back story or connection history. There's more to Dom's story than just this. There the time he first meets Marcus, the time he first sees Maria, and the time his brother became a martyr during the pendulum wars. I wish I could find a book around here instead of only having the synopsis to go by.

@5133pp1z Check out amazon dude, I've got all the Gears books and they are great for explaining the back story, in particular the prequel about the fnal battle in the Pendulum Wars. To be honest though I think Gears is better than Halo; the story is better and the characters more emotionally involved.
