  • I would give my right nut for that car. Mostly becuase I think my right nut has a cancerous lump on it.

  • there's nothing wrong with the replicas. there aren't enough originals to go around for all the people that love this car. and not many people would be able to afford an original. what's wrong with people showing their love by driving a replica?

  • That is in fact a real Cobra. It is in the Shelby American museum in Boulder, doesn't get much more real than that...It is also running on the Colorado Grand, which does not accept fake, or replica cars.

  • That body looks like steel or aluminum not fiberglass, so its real not a kit car.

  • just take a pic of the VIN for proof and make a video out of it.. if it has CSX then it is an original cobra

  • wow.

  • Get it in front of a 1080p cancorder !!

  • The front wheels as someone said are too far out into the flares, not all 427s had a hood scoop, and the bumperettes are totally wrong. The parking lights look OK but tough to tell for sure from this photo. My friend Mike Clark had one of the 36 Competition Street Cobras built. I borrowed it in 1969 for Georgano's book "A History of SportsCars" - I have photos. Mike's car was later owned by Tony Hogg of Road & Track where it was featured in its Salon section. I drove it for a week. Mamma mia!

  • Is the one I put on, or am I hat eating, next time I,m at Simon's, I'm viding the DIN plate

  • it's real

  • It's real, it's in the Shelby American Museum in Boulder, CO.

  • 80% of the people that post a response to the video's have no clue in the difference in a cobra and a kit. There are two only companies that build Cobra's that are rolling chassi's and they are not kits. 1) Superformance 2) Kirkham.

  • looks like it saw a corvette

    :0

  • neat car,but not real. clues are the wheels are too far out ,real shelbys front turning lights are mounted on the fender flatand not a raised pad.hood scoop,ALL cobra hood scoops were riveted,my guess is this is a midstates ot shell valley. keyto real shelby, you and your wife and get to walk up to it ont see a new vdeo of one here, and if you see a car while your having dinner,it's a fake

  • The real Cobras are great, but so are many replicas. Nice ride.

  • That's not an "AC" logo on that bonnet.

"AC Cobra In HD, Simons Toy" has an "AC" Badge, Back and front, On top of the original paint !!!!!! , Hell !, it's even got it's own "AC" key ring,

  • Very nostalgic, expensive, and red group there. AC Cobra, Ferrari 250 Gt and a Porsche 356. I really want to know where this was!

  • sorry KINKAID25 i know this responce is late but Shelby NEVER produced a Cobra that did not have a Ford V8 in it.........................inline 6 never happened in a Cobra

  • Just want to add that original AC roadsters did have sixes, but @zipvista, you're absolutely right, Carroll Shelby installed only Ford motors the first being a 260, then 289's and 427's. One had a 390 and was a test mule that Miles test drove to develope the 427 cars

  • @isohisso

Not all 427's had 427's in them at the end of the production run the street 427's had 428 police interceptors in them with dual 4b carbs.

  • Yup, you're right. You could say

the PI428 was the original Cobra Jet. I don't know as fact, but Tasca probably got the idea for the R code Mustangs from those PI428 Cobras

  • small bit of trivia 427's were actually 425's and 428' were actually 427's. (corrected displacements)

  • I'm sure one of the original AC COBRA sold for $3 million dollars..this is the original one with the bristol streight 6. some one told me there were only 1000 ever made..

  • Yeah these are sweet cars. The only real one i've seen was at this place out west somewhere called Telestar Motors I think. This guy claimed he had the largest collection of Mustangs in the world and he also had a 289 cid AC Cobra which i had never heard of. I thought all real AC Cobras had the 427. But he had one each of every year GT350 and GT500

  • @thebrian420

First Cobras had a ford 260 then went to the 289 with various setups. Then the 427 side oiler came out and the 427's had a different body style. Some of the 427 cobras did leave the factory with 428 police interceptor engines at the end of the production run.

  • I own a 1971 LT1 Vette, fully chromed, etc. I still love the AC Cobra! What a powerhouse!! You don't have to choose between them. I wish I coils afford a Cobra.

  • nice

  • Jealousy's a bitch, eh? A Corvette isn't half the car this is.

  • Yea, right. Where does a 17 year old get the money for a 2009 Corvette? Surely if you have that kind of money, you have enough to buy a digital camera and upload a video of this car?

The only smoke I see around here is from the bong you've been hitting.

  • looks also matter when it comes to cars not just performance

  • AC Cobra 0-100-0 (MPH) in 12 seconds, you really think so???

  • yeah ok there fuck face, and im ken blocks toe nail.........

A ZR1 is no big deal. Rule #1 Dont fuck with Cobras

  • so its not worth $500,00 is it?

  • it's worth about 700 dollars too..........

  • You can tell from the scoop that it is fiberglass. Nothing wrong with that. The hottest Cobras are to be found among the modern ones (so-called fakes). I used to own a RAM Cobra built from a LR Roadster kit.

  • @nevermissedabeat

What about the scoop makes you think its

    fiberglass? No rivets?

  • choke out of adjustment

  • didn't think of that... could be...

  • This is CSX3224. If you see a Colorado Grand number plate on a car it is real!!! The video was taken in Grand Juction, CO 06. I'm the Community Liaison for the Colorado Grand (look it up). My daughter & I are on our way to set up the next lunch stop for the Colorado Grand. Yes it is driven on the Colorado Grand with all the other original Race Cars and Sports cars of Distinction. Shelby American Collection web site to see it . Peter Egan did a story Colorado Grand in Road & Track.

  • what identifys this car as a fake first of all is it's paint job. Second 1000 miles RAIN or SHINE... A REAL COBRA BULL SHIT!!! And this thing sounds like an absolute SHITBOX. My father owns a very REAL one and it sounds nothing like this pourly constructed gocart.

  • Funny how it went from "I own a real one" to "my father owns one." Obviously a compulsive liar, if anything.

    Fail.

  • Hate all you want people. My father owns the real Deal. This car is as fake as they come. Sorry if that disappoints you guys.

  • Actually just looked at your profile thinking you would be about 14.....and you're 23!!!

Don't you think you're a bit old to be going on about daddy's car?

And just as a footnote, do some research before making comments like these, edwardfe2524 has just made you look like a complete and utter idiot.

    Well done!

  • If it's real how come it's fiberglass???

It's obviously not real, if you truly know Cobras the hood is a dead giveaway.

  • Hey dumbshit there is no way in fucking hell you can tell that hood is fiberglass. Are you like the fiberglass God are you in touch with your inner fiberglass. Just shut the hell up, especially if you do not know what the hell you are talking about.

  • nice three red roadsters, but Cobra is best of them.

  • listen to that chunky cam, nice

  • be quiet, don't you know "CVette man" knows all? Evidently he hadn't realized that sound reproduction from a video camera is so-so at best but when it comes to cars, he knows all - so of course he knows whether or not this is a real Cobra by seeing a one minute snippet. just look at that user name - that says it all - he's CVette Man!

We humble ourselves to your greatness

  • I happen to own a REAL 427ci A/C Cobra. And speaking from experience. This car is as fake as they come. It's a Kit. Mine sounds 100 times better then this. Because it's the real deal.

  • of corse its real. thats my dad in the driver seat and I'm sitting next to him. it's a 1966 AC Shelby Cobra. If you want to see more cars like our you should check out the American Shelby collection in Boulder

  • Is there any way I could see some shots of the engine under the hood of the vehicle in this video???

  • right you own a 427ci cobra ok sure and why is your name corvetteman right my man you name after a chevy while cobra is ford o and if you have one have a video with you in it cause honestly i could say i got a 3000hp lamborguini on here but that doesnt mean i got one o and btw look it up they dont make kits rember this is a real car a/c not r/c

  • Oh good one dumb shit. You think owning a real one will make it sound better. I think you are about as fucking retarded as they come. Oh and if you have a real A/C Cobra how about putting a video up.

  • Man that sound is as sexy as a Merlin-powered Mustang

  • pure lust!!!

  • luvley car ace sound cobras rule!

  • If I had a Cobra I would drive it every day....knowing that it retained it's value no matter how many miles I put on it.

  • Sexy sounds :3

  • dude an original is 500k...come on! like your gonna drive it! tell me im wrong!

  • U r wrong. if i happened to be a formula one driver or any high caliber race car driver wit a shitload of driving skills i would definitely drive it.

  • But it's the idiot that slams into you that you need to worry about. Not calling you a liar, or saying this isn't a real Cobra, just saying that it's crazy to take an original out on the road.

  • i got an 80 bronco with a built 429 and Holley 750 street avenger and get about 12 avg. on 92

  • Love American Big Block V8. I gonna get one of those 67/68 Mustang 390 or 428. What MPG do they get anyone?

  • i would say anywhere from 6-10 mpg.

  • A 390 gets about 8.

    I don't know what a 428 gets. (is the 428 on the 460 block?)

  • alexwilsonNC, the 428 is basically a bored and stroked 390. Both engines are members of the FE family (332, 352, 360 truck, 361 Edsel, 390, 410 Mercury, 427 and 428). The 460 belonged to the "385" series of engines (370 truck, 429, 460). I once owned a '68 Torino with a 390-2 and highway gears. On the highway at 70, she'd be idling along at about 2100 RPM. She could just touch 17 MPG highway. Not at all bad for a car that had all the power a sane man could ever use. I wish I had it back.

  • Not many of these around today. Mainly because most of them were written off! Can't imagine why... :)

  • his car is my dad's and that is me in the passenger seat. It is true that it had an unfortunate hydro plain accident, but it is in the shop with no fatal damage. It is a little bent out of shape, but nothing that can't be fixed and Every thing will stay original.

O and you think it looks cool... you should drive it!!!!

  • do 427 s/c have 485hp?

  • FORD V8 ENGINE

  • how much would a real 427 sc that is all origional sell for today

  • I've seen some auction for $1,000,000+

  • At Road America, I recenly saw a dark blue (almost black) "narrow waist" 427 cobra in it's origonal state with no side pipes or hood scoop. I used to love those extra bits- but then I saw that blue car as it looked from the factory... and wow what a thing of beauty. thanks for the vid post.

  • great video clip and I've rated it as five star. Please check out my clips on vintage motor car trading cards, 1920s-1950s.

  • The 356 behind is is pretty cool lookin though

  • OOOHH, it was wrecked. That breaks my heart.. especialy if it was a real one. That 427 sounds bad to the bone too!

  • how does one tell the difference between an original and a replica?

  • Some replicas are so good, you can't tell at all unless you look at the serial number. Usually interior details and the angle/curve of the back fenders are the easiest differences to spot. I read about this car in the Colorado grand at it IS original. And yes, they wrecked it. I'll bet it was salvaged tho. NO one throws those things to the scrap heap.

  • sadly this car was wrecked hard at the end of the Colorado Grand rally

  • this car is the reason we have speedlimits. One was clocked testing for le mans down the m1 at over 200 mph !! You gotta love it tho

  • Great car! Even if it's a "recreation" I regard it highly. Too many of these replica Cobra's look cheap with their wrong dashboard layouts and wrong steering wheels. This one looks right!

  • Interesting, hood scoops were a dealer add on and were RIVETED on with the originals not "molded in" like with a fiberglass replica. Its a nice replica, but its not original.

  • this actually is a real car, you cant see it but they are riveted like you said

  • Actually, not all original Cobras remained in their "original" state. A huge number of true original cobras had hood scoops, side-pipes, and roll bars added many years later, and not all of them show rivets. So using no-rivets as a criteria is not really valid. I've seen dozens of originals at the Monterey historic races and many don't have rivets either. I read about this car. It is real.
