It took me a lot of weeks and a lot of pot just to scratch the surface of Coltrane. That was listening; you can actually feel and play it. You are an awesome f*cking drummer. Thank you for being born.
your great bro , but one suggestion, i feel like your playing too much, like in the begining of the sone "head" u played a fill every 2 bars kick it a bit right there but u got the chops man just listen to a lot of jazz and you will have it down in no time
proof that you dont need an 18" 14" 12" gretch to sound incredible playing jazz, your using pinstripes and still sound great , all goes to show 99% of the sound comes from the drummer and not the gear your using, im well impressed!
I completely agree with your statement, I know a lot of guys get bop sized kits for easier set up and transport. I own an 18 bass and a 22, I love them both but for different reasons. As drummers we all have to be able to play on any kit because we might always get a choice to bring our own gear, I read an article in MD about that, good stuff.

Understated while still exhibiting great showmanship. Sounds contradictory, but the showmanship always fit, and when you needed to sit on it you did. Great chops, way to really play with and not through the song. Only wish you could have accented some of the hits and runs coltrane does during the first movement a little more, ya know? You've still got a great, well defined, style that works exceptionally with the song. A- (91/100)
How can you hear all this stuff man? I want to learn how to play Afro Blue by John Coltrane but I don't know where to start. Besides the killer buzz rolls I can play So Tired by Art Blakey, so I'm starting somewhere. where do you start geez
Man...Just 10 minutes ago I said to myself "I remember watching a video of that killin' drummer play Resolution about a year ago, let me go check that shit out again." Then, out of the blue, I find that you just posted an updated version just a few hours ago! What a coincidence. I must say man, you sound even better than you did back then. Killed it man, keep it up and don't forget your roots in jazz! Can't wait to see some more of this kind of stuff.
