This show was playing the first time I ever visited Disney World when I was 5 (so totally 90's), and it's one of the main things captured on my family's video camera that year. I've only been back once when I was 15, and I'm going back this year! This video brings back some great memories and I can't wait till my trip this year!!
@Linz031487 Mickey Birthdayland became Mickey's Starland. The land this was built on was temporary, and was recenly bull dozed to make way for the Fantasyland expansion
@DarthJones55 Dear heaven, I thought maybe I was the only who had been upset by that. I remember going to either Disneyworld or Land in the early 90's when I was only five, maybe six years old and Darkwing was my absolute favorite character but I think DW had just been taken off the air...man. However, I have a friend in college who interned as a character actor. According to her, the costume exists...so if you got the money to throw a party & want DW...you can have him!
@SterlThePearl67 Super late reply, but thanks for the info. I HAVE been hearing info that a DW return could always happen. A recent interview with the creator, had the creator saying that DW fans are entering the staff of Disney. Say if one gets to a high enough position we can see the franchise return. :D
OMG I miss this show so much! I got teary eyed from the memories!! I used to make my parents watch this show over and over when we went to disney! I still have dreams about this show ha ha ha i'm 21 now!
I've seen it the first time in 1990 (yep, this show is at least that old), the only difference was that CJ has to ask Zummi Gummi from the Gummi Bears to help her find Mickey. As she exits the stage, Zummi's magic mishaps and Mickey Mouse appears in the box.
Those of us who were kids during this time know that this is when cartoons were at there best. Now they are just dumb.
Disney could really reestablish themselves as the best in the market if they would just relaunch this block of shows. Start by airing the originals, then air new episodes of them.
I'd love it if my kids could grow up on them like I did.
@Sorria86: StarLand and BirthdayLand are the SAME name, except one starred the original four-five TDA shows (GB, DT, CDRR, TS, and DWD [replaced GB]), whilst the other starred the later shows (TS, DWD, GT [replaced DT], and B! [replaced CDRR]).
Thank you so much for posting this video. I was in this show in 1991-1992 and watching this brings back so many memories. I miss working there a lot. All the CJ's were fun to work with but Annie was my favorite.
Wow this is completly diffrent then the one I saw. I think I went in 1994 or 1993 and it was Darkwing Duck, Talespin, Bonkers, and goof troop. Also completly diffrent voices like for dude.
nhhschicky: Holy shisnit! I was there too! I was--I believe in one of the middle rows--and was sadly, as giddy, as a kid in a candy store, but then again, weren't we all at that time?
Wrong this was not in MGM studios. The person had it right this was in Mickey's Starland which now is known as Mickey's Toontown Fair. They had this area shut down for a but while they reconstructed most of it this is one of the shows they scrapped out. ;] This definatly brings back memories i LOVED this when a was a little kid ;].
no this where in disney mgm studios where is playhouse disney live on stage now my mom rembere theater where use to be mickey birthdayland disney afternoon show . in number 14 soundstage is i am right ?magicalthemepark
Oh my goodness! I remember this show when I was little! It was my favorite show b/c my family & I always saw it! Holy cow! Thanks for putting this up. It brings back good memories of the Disney Afternoon characters. Awesomeness! Thanks again!
Wow... I didn't even think there would be a video of this on here! This was my favorite part of Disney World when I was a kid. I went there two years ago (after not going for about 10 years) and the whole thing they had the show in is now a giant store. Kind of depressing to see... =/ Thanks so much for posting!

The other difference to the '90 version is that Gadget came out with Chip n' Dale instead of Mickey (She brought the TNT)

This was in Mickey's Starland not Mickey's Birthday land.
In any case, I won one of those T-shirts and hat when I was kid. I still have the hat, the shirt long since bit the dust.

This show ran at Walt Disney World in Florida. The theater was located at "Mickey's Starland" which most recently became "Mickey's Toontown Fair"
