  • Jim Williams: #1 Truly raw bencher: In a loose "fruit of the loom" white t-shirt, no belt, no straps, flat on bench, 1972: An immaculate 675, & a just-missed 700 same day, with better form than anything judges ok'd the last 30yrs. Give him the latest shirt, the latest drugs, & the loosened rules: 1100Lbs+ for sure.

  • How come world records for bench press the guys look so dumb but those who set world records on deadlifts actually look cool?

  • @Jehanzeb14 maybe because it's not possible to wear a bench shirt without looking retarded lol?

  • @xXJeReMiAhXx99 That just might be it.

  • @Ouimsie1 yes but im only 20 years old.... let me get to 30 .... and ur 230 poounds of solid muscles is 100% steroids if not you fucking lie

  • @Ouimsie1 i probably did not introduce myself. 6"7 240 pounds. of raw lean muscles!

  • @khav11 240 is light for 6'7".

  • @sweathogsparky it is. im getting some steroids soon. also i have absolutly no fat. i bench 3 plates with ease...

  • @khav11 lol, Everyone has bodyfat. It would be impossible to have "absolutely no fat". You should post a video. Until then, I'll just keep my impression that you are a skinny kid behind a keyboard.

  • @sweathogsparky lmao what a surprise you want me to post nude hahahaha typical retarded gym rat. i would smoke you in a fight and yes 240 pounds is very skinny HAHAHAHAHAH you reallu got the status of the dumbest man on youtube.props you finally win at something loser.

  • @khav11 Nerd rage much? You just confirmed my suspicions.

  • Since Scott has a raw video of a 715 bench and a 1015 with a bench shirt and a close fail at 1080, I guess I can assume a bench shirt is worth 300 to 350 pounds.

  • by no means can i hold 1000lbs in a bench press position, but at the same time i would not consider this to be an acutall bench press rep, no are any of these other ones that you are seeing in the 800-1100 range, the acutall barbell travel is only like 6-8", i know this much, when i do bench it's more like a 18-22" travel. i think i would be much more impressed by someone lifting 550-650lbs and doing it with a normal amount of travel. not this baby arm mess

  • i want to see you guys hold a 1000lb's in bench press position!

  • he lifted for 3 inches? lol whata huge fuck pussy failure

  • @khav11 I'd like to see a video of you even lifting this of a rack. Better yet let some spotters help you lift it of and try holding it above you. That way we can see your arms snap in half and a thousand pounds will come down and cave your chest in. That way you wont be writing stupid comments on these type of videos...

  • @ThelegendAtlas i push 405 and i bet i can kick his ass because im faster than that big sack of shit

  • FAGGOT

  • fuckin pussy

    didnt lift shit

  • wtf that old small skinny man rushed in to help..shoulda cleared the way for that big ass spotter from the beginning

  • If he has a 715 raw bench, does that mean his bench shirt gives him 300lb.

When i lifted in the late 80s, my 1 ply inzer gave me 5kg.

  • @brucemichreb nowadays is normal for a good bench shirt to give you up 30-40% more your max

  • @thebonecracker I lift 125 without shirt 135 with,If u are realy big and "fat" maybe it works 20-30% ye:p

  • @Kaisindre it depends on the shirt too

  • @IamVooDooo 110 lb plates 50 kg dumbass

  • I wish I could Press a button and a Meteorite fell on the head of a person every time the word "Steroids" and "Fatass" were brought up when talking about a powerlifter or bodybuilder. Don't disrespect this sport because your Mom And Dad have shitty genetics and passed them on to you

  • @bulldogmma89 someone still hasn't gotten over being the fat kid at school....

  • what a bunch of tools. complete waste of time, effort etc...what happened to actually lifting the correct way? RAW

  • @ger1mon umm, as a matter of fact scot has held the raw bench press world record since 2005 which is 715 pounds so i wouldn't go about calling him a tool...or saying his efforts are a waste, who are you to say someones effort is a waste of time? Especially when that someone is a world class powerlifter and record holder? Get real man.

  • @scootershooter2002 have you done your homework. What does raw mean? NO belt, NO wrist wraps, NO power suit etc...NO support help AT ALL. Do some searching, and, you'lll find guy's that actually do it. In addition, look at the movement. Horrible. His type of lifting is a disgrace to those that do it naturally, and, with no support. What he does is more of a "show". Fun to watch but not the real thing. ps how much shit do you think this guy has in his system?

  • @ger1mon: Not sure where you got your rules regarding RAW lifting. I have been competing in the RAW division exclusively since 2003. Belts and wrist wraps are allowed in RAW. It is the supportive gear that is not allowed as it can aid your lift. The belt and wrist wraps have been determined to not aid the lifter, but is used for safety. When Scott did 715 it was with his mandatory singlet and a t-shirt with a belt and wrist wraps. The USAPL rulebook is detailed on what constitutes RAW.

  • @nascar624fans your are correct these are the USAPL rules. owever, I beg to argue that an actual raw, or, unassisted lift is just that "unassisted". Using naturel unaided naturel given strength. with all of the individual orgs the sport has become so diluted. it seems as though lifters will do "anything" to get the big lift.

  • @ger1mon : I understand what you are saying, which is exactly why I have never worn a supportive shirt. However; when I train in the gym, I will train with and without a belt and or wrist wraps and their is no difference with my lifts. I only wear a belt and wrist wraps for safety reasons and it in no way assist my lifts. The only gear out their that is going to boost your lift is a bench shirt. I really wish they would ban the shirts as they complicate the sport.

  • @ger1mon Um, yes I have. Apparently you haven't because RAW simply means no bench shirt. Belts, wrist wraps, etc. are allowed and scot's lift of 715 is a great lift and by no means a disgrace. I don't understand why you're hating on Scot so much, he's the strongest raw bencher and the second strongest equipped lifter, has great form and technique in the bench press, like whats your deal?

  • what federation is that ipa?

  • im 13 and i can bench press 400lbs raw.

  • @13andincrediblycut im 12 and my total is 3000lbs... fuck you you lying shitsack

  • @rctman1 im not lying ill upload the vids soon

  • is anyone even close to his WR for raw BP?

  • @samugrose James henderson did 710, and i believe he was tested

  • @samugrose Yeah, James Henderson, The bench wonder of the world hit 711 in 1997. There are others who will rise to this level in the near future as well.

  • How are you claiming he is lifting less than half the weight with a bench shirt, when 1. you have not held that much weight up and 2. probably never had a bench shirt on. Many people seem to be experts on things they have never done hmmm...

  • HAHAHA another fuking rubber band spring loaded fraud arms BS video. What is the REAL bench record? U know, with 'nude arms'

  • @Deathrape2001 715 by the same guy

  • he cant move his arms

  • @thepwnage11 He cannot move his arms because they are wrapped in rubber to springload them so he's actually lifting half (or less) the weight they R claiming. It's totally ridiculous BS! If there R even sleves on someone while doing a lift like this, don't believe it 4 an instant. It's fake rubber band krap 4 dorx with roids & no brain.

  • ...

  • @steroidsR4losers Spammers like U R losers 2 - U both R losers, now go do the Earth a favor & off yourself, freak.

  • @Deathrape2001

Let's continue to expose and humiliate these drug using cheating cowards. See my profile...

    Stay natural buddy!

  • @steroidsR4losers Scot Mendelson is 100% natural. I met this guy yesterday at a meet the day before he competed, and he promotes drug-free competing, and is the coach of an entire team that was competing at a national level. This guy is legit, and is clean.

  • @XMrLawlX Your kidding right? Scot is no where near natural. He can promote whatever he wants, but he is not natural. I repect what he does, I mean his raw max is twice mine, but saying he is natural is plainly disrespectful to us natural lifters who are in the 3 and 4 hundreds.

  • 1real ton is 1000kgs and 1000kgs =220462262 lb 1 kg = 2.20462262pounds 1 pound = 0.45359237 kilograms IN ANY POWERLIFTING MEET ITS USED THE REAL FUCKING KILOGRAM FORGET ABOUT STUPID RETARD U.S METRIC TON SO MENDELSON IS BENCHING 489.87976001080856187531995838819 KILOGRAMS UNIVERSAL KGS PERIOD!!!!!!!!!

  • ...

  • ton=2240 pounds 907.18474 kilograms

  • ...

  • no its 2200 pounds ...

  • ...

  • there's nothing wrong with my comprehension. but there's obviously something wrong with your standard. why do you americans have to be so different from everyone else? with your inches, ounces, gallons and all that shit, why cant you just use the metricsystem like everyone else? whats the point? we can argue all day about the ton issue, but it doesnt matter. a ton will always be a tonne, end of story.

  • ...

  • american ton... lmao...

  • ...

  • ...

  • ? google "tonne" and see for yourself. a tonne (or metric ton) is a unit symbol used all over the world. 1 tonne is 1000 kg. 1000 kg is 2204.4 lbs,. 500 kg is 1102.2 lbs. 1080 lbs is 490 kg. what do you FAIL to understand? I'm from Sweden.

  • no. why do everyone keep failing at understanding the convension table? ok, to be even more precisely, 500 KG (which is half a ton) is 1102.2 lbs. multiply it by two and you get 1000 kg, a ton. 2204.4 lbs is 1 ton. 1080 lbs/2.2= 490 kg.

  • no its not. 1100 is half a ton, since 2200 lbs is a ton. 1080 is under a half a ton (490 kg to be precisely).

  • is it just me or does scott mendelson crash on about 90% of his lifts?

  • oh for crying out loud! this could have been settled in one minute! dude google 'Mass and Weight conversion online' - in the 'Metric' section type in 0.5 in the 'tonne' box, click convert, scroll down to the 'U.S. / British' section and in the 'pound (lb)' box it will say 1102.

  • For the 10th time, it most certainly IS NOT! Do the damn math yourself (I know people assume 1000 punds is half a ton, some would call it an easy estimate, well its a highly incorrect such).

    1080 lbs = 489.8(...) kgs.

1000 lbs = 453.5(...) kgs (not really even close to half a ton).

  • isnt a ton 2000pds

  • oh right, that must be the one i read. ok, cool.

  • true, i thought that scott medelson was about 5'9 though? i know gene rychlak is about 6'1.

  • Absolutely not, calculate it correctly.

  • 1 ton is 2000 lbs. Half a ton is 1000 lbs.

  • Come on, how hard is it for you to actually look it up and know for sure what you are talking about? 500 kgs is a half ton - 500kgs is almost exactly 1102 lbs.

Try to not spread highly incorrect facts around the internet, seriously.

  • 1080 lbs = about 490 kgs.. Almost half a ton.. Ouch.

  • this vid was here a year ago today

  • Bench shirts are allowed in competition. In fact, the records that are held all the way back to Ted Arcidi are with shirts. Do they enhance poundages? Yes. Raw bench numbers are lower. But they absolutely are allowed in competition. Also, Scott is one of the best Bench Press competitors in the world today. You want to call his lifting sloppy? Most men couldn't do for one what this guy warms up with. Give the man his just do. He's earned it.

  • @sjvcon Doesn't matter if a 'competition' allows U 2 sit there & smoke cigarettes in a lounge chair while eating grapes & call that a dead lift - it's still BS! WTF - U don't believe a fuking word U R saying. If those really R the 'rules', then those 'rules' guarantee the 'competion' is fake nonsense!

  • @sjvcon I love this - is that what they call these spring-loading rubber band torso tensioning devices - "bench shirts"?? Hey string 4 of them & replace the shocks on your car! HAHA "Bench shirts... now U don't need the athlete, just stick 1 on a manequin & watch them 'powerlift'" HAHA =))

"O' my I drop the weight on the arms & it springs back up - like MAGIC!" Aaah the wonders of industrial-grade elastic.

  • Comment removed

  • Wow what an ignorant comment. In powerlifting competitions there is an equipped and raw division. Shirts can be used in equipped. Arches are allowed, and the bigger the chest and stomach and the bigger the arch the better the bencher. You want to make your lift the most biomechanically advantageous, and taking advantage of simple physics is not against the rules. And the best benchers with the shirts are also the best without the shirts.

  • @igottaxonmychest- first off, they don't even do the benchpress in weightlifting. second, this is powerlifting, and in any benchpress competition you are aloud to arch your back. third, benching with a shirt takes WAY more skill than benching raw. it's funny you make fun of this guy for wearing a shirt and not benching correctly, when he is the person who holds the RAW benchpress record(that means without a shirt) to begin with.

  • Well in the weight meets i was in we definitely did the bench press, squats, deadlift, and power clean. i never said i was doing olympic weight lifting competitions or whatever the fuck these guys are doing, but the ones i was in, they did bench press, and didn't allow us to arch our backs, and nobody was allowed to wear bench press shirts, but we were required to wear squat belts bc they protect you, not enhance you. so talk whatever shit u want. the ones i was in weren't like these.

  • @igottaxonmychest-you are one stupid ass kid! you comment on my page saying my back is going to b crippled by the time I am 30 cause of my bench arch?? the weight is on my traps, not my back. I am killing my back benching, but some how I can deadlift over 500..yeah that makes sense. you don't have the first clue about lifting weights. why don't you post a video of yourself please mr. expert. damn , kids like you piss me off.

  • i did not say that about your back being crippled by the time you were 30 about your damn bench press u stupid fuck, i posted that about your dead lifts, i know i put in that comment (which you deleted, so you wouldnt have proof that i didn't mess up) i put to not bend as much at your hips, instead bend at the knees, my weightlifting coach used to tell us to plant our feet and look up when we were doing deadlifts or squats bc it helps put less strain on your back. so fuck you, fucking dumb prick

  • @igottaxonmychest -I assumed you were reffering to the bench video BECAUSE WE HAVE BEEN TALKING ABOUT THE BENCHPRESS THE WHOLE TIME! so you randomly start talking about deadlifts with out acknowledgeing it?!? high school coaches tell you "head up" cause it helps keep your chest up, but if u have been lifting long enough, u know how to keep your groove with having to do beginer things like keeping your head up. most pro's look straight ahead..world record deadlift holder andy bolton for instance.

  • well i posted that on your own page, and the main video that it automatically pulls up is the 500lb raw deadlift? i just clicked onto your page and that's what it showed and then i made that comment, and i don't think, ok head up, when i do squats or dead lifts now, ill be 23 in a few days and have been working out since i was like 14, so i mean im not a fucking pro but i know what im doing and talking about, so our comps here are different than these, my bad,

  • and they tell u head up so it will make your spine straight, keep you from bending at the hips as much (using your lower back) & makes you use your legs SO much more. just drop this subject, so DUMB, i have better things to do with my time than to come keep replying to a dumb fucking argument. the only reason i respond is bc that's the only defense i have of my opinion. so just drop this stupid petty bullshit.

  • bro these kids dont know shit, just ignore them. theres alot of mr. knowitalls on the net

  • ...

  • @Cambria2007 how do you know hes a kid? because he lacks information on weight lifting? i've seen many ADULTs who are way less inteligent than other KIDS. ......Just saying...Mr. Expert adult.

  • @kinetec188 at least cambria knows what hes talking about...Mr. Expert douche....who cares if he really is or not

  • my P.E. teacher is scot's father and i even went to his office and he had pictures of scot so i searched scot up to see if he was famous and i guess he is :P

  • Are they stronger than 154 lbs chimpanzees?

  • Nope

  • Insane for attemting

  • I don't care how much weight he's barely moving. A very sloppy lifter.

  • sloppy? this guy owns world records, but i guess he only got them by being sloppy, everyone knows you only break world records by lifting sloppy. you dumb cunt.

  • lift 10 pounds over your max, i bet you'll be very sloppy too

  • FAIL !!!!!!!!!

  • i was there

  • 490kg wow

  • the biggest weight lifted by a t-shirt.

  • go get a shirt and try it..... see what happens jerk

  • fuck who cares tall are short im short and i dont hate on any body the dude is strong as a fucking ox give the dude credit at leat he got so close thats way way more than i can do i like to just do perfect reps i dont care if i can bench 500 lbs its not my thing my shoulders and traps are it to me look at bill kazmaiers thats what i want nothing else

  • figures coming from a short guy just saying.

  • 0,5 tonn??

  • more like 0,32 tonns.

  • this video is from 2008 mabye he will hit even 1100lb

  • why dont you go down and see how not small scott is at his gym im sure hewill have no problem showing you his reach

  • he's obv very strong i'll give him that, but look at his t-rex arms. The bench press is kinda a gay lift because it's easier for short people and for people with longer arms they have to lift twice as high.

  • o really? then basketball and running is gay too because you have to be tall and with long legs to be good at.

dude, we (short people) can bench better, you (idk if you ae but, tall people) can play basketball better... to say something, u get the point.

    your comment is idiotic.

  • already anwe him but i post this fo the poeple that read your comment:

He was using a close gip at the benchpress, foming a 45 degree angle when the ba was at chest. That's why he think is doing more distance. If he does 90 degrees like eveybody, the distance is the same propotionally to your limbs size.

  • thats not true at all....

  • by the way, i'm short and also skinny like you, look my 120Kg benchpress video and look the distance i make the bar tavel, is the same.

  • pablo my rom is like 3 times yours no offense.

  • @rctriplefresh5 dude who cares? what you bench is what you can bench. you don't get short people making calculations to say how fast they can REALLY run if they had long legs. besides my bench press started weaker than most taller peoples, and many are still stronger. i've finally managed to build a decent 1RM... now i've got people like you trying to say: 'TECHNICALLY i'm 5 times stronger than you'.

  • ok

    whats ur height

    i got same problem

    im 6"6 220 pounds

  • @rctriplefresh5 LOL!

  • huuh?

  • He is just simply stating physical facts. A shorter person can lift more weight on average because their arms are shorter and the weight has less distance to travel. He wasn't cutting down short people or tall people. He was just saying shorter people have an advantage over tall people in this event because of pure physics of the human body?? And i get what you're saying too that basketball should be considered gay to short people bc tall people have the advantage in that event.

  • Fuck you're stupid. He's over 6ft tall and he has normal length arms for his height. They are not fucking t-rex arms, they may look a little shorter because of his bench shirt - but you can watch his 715 raw record and see that his stroke is about the same as most 6ft people.

And having short arms is shit in the deadlift so having a mechanical advantage in bench with short arms sucks when you deadlift. People who call 't-rex' arms need excuses for their piss poor 100lb maxs - people like you.

  • @URAGR8M8 WTF U think if U blab enough meaningless words it will alter the fact this guy wrapped his torso in rubber bands 2 spring the thing up like a car suspension. It's not muscle doing the work. He's a fukking fat azzed pansy dork W/a head full of synthol.

  • @Deathrape2001

Lets start off with your need to learn basic grammar. Go back to grade school, please. The majority of people here didn't read your shit post because of your stupidity. Second, how the fuck would RUBBER BANDS help "spring shot" 1000 fucking pounds back up into the air? Do you have any idea the amount of force would require stopping 1000 lbs from falling down, and then shooting it back up? A hell of a lot more than a t-shirt's worth.

  • @pillzownsu My use of shorthand has nothing 2 so with the fact that N E 1 strapping themselves full of industrial rubber bands trying 2 trick ppl into thinking they can bench a lot is complete BS.

U R the type of deadbrain clown who would approve strapping hydraulic jacks 2 a weightlifter's azz 2 do bigger squats, & calling it 'sportswear'.

People not into weightlifting look @ this crap & laugh their azzes off - rubber band wearing retard fatties! LoL!!

  • @Deathrape2001 Are you saying you can bench 1000 pounds with a shirt on? Cause it kinda sounds that way

  • @pillzownsu Hey here's a radical concept - make people actually bench weights with their own damn muscles! =) How's that 4 'revolutionary'? It's really simple: get a blood test 2 C if U R jacked on PCP or 'Roids or whatever 2 ruin yourself 4 a spec, & if clean, take off your fuking shirt & push some weights! Is it really that complicated? Wear NOTHING on your chest. THAT is a real bench press =]

I have 2 say 'nothing' because U will probably find a way 2 hide jacks in a T-shirt HAHA

  • @Deathrape2001 hells ya man total support dude. people need to stop being fake and actually push some weight with their actual bodies. no stupid roids no stupid bench shirt just raw power cuz this guy and every other guy that uses roids and shirts are total fakes

  • @SteezyTre U know what would B truly kewl is if some1 did vids demonstrating other primate strength like gorillas, orangutans, & even chimps they say R stronger than people. Need 2 attach some actual weights 2 prizes 4 them - simple =) Like hey Mr. Gorilla lift this 1,000Lb thingy 2 reach the bananas under it, etc. So simple!

  • @Deathrape2001 ya man gorillas are sick as fuck and super strong. one had a 78 inch chest...damn beast

  • dude if a mouse bench pressed more than you would you say: "that's not fair, cos it's got short limbs". it pisses me off cos whatever exercise i start to get good at someone hints to me: 'you're only strong cos you're small'. and i never take credit away from taller people.

  • i give mendy a few weeks and he'll have that

  • Power to Mendy!!!

  • Good to see someone close to Kennelly even if he didn't get it. I can't imagine what he would do if Scott took his record, he's already a monster of motivation.

  • WAR KENNELLY
