Maybe Im wrong, but to me this song is about a boy who is falling in love with this girl, to him she is heaven sent. She is his personal angel, and everything she says or does makes him fall harder. She saves him. When he isn't at his best he sees her, and falls in love. Now he isnt "jumping from the tops of buildings" but "singing at the tops of buildings" she saves his life. And he's asking god to make him good enough for her, am I wrong?

Falling "head over heels" is a simple expression applied most commonly to falling in Love. As a christian one would fall in love with Jesus and Dan is just expressing that poetically. It helps to see this allusion by reading the Lyrics all at once.
