Actually, Fairy Tail has a LOT in common with Naruto, if you think about it.

The named techniques, the over-dramatic usage of said techniques, a sort of twisted humor that only real fans enjoy, the squad of four (usually, and not counting Mr. Kitty Cat, Happy), the main protagonist suffering some sort of mental trauma (Naruto being alone all his life, Natsu losing Igneel as a child), etc etc I could go on. Oh, and the art style is INCREDIBLY similar to One Piece. Lucy + Nami

I notice a lot of similarities in One Piece, to be honest... and not just in the look, but in the personalities. Natsu really is another Goku. And the plot structure seems to follow the same rhythm, as well.

I like One Piece and Naruto both, but Fairy Tail is MUCH different. For another matter, how the hell is it a hybrid?
