Been playing this on my PS2, seems slower than the gameplay shown here - it lags a lot more, not sure why.

@Renulph a few things why:

1. maybe the backwards compatibility for the PS2 is not as good as just running it on a PS1 or 2. the gameplay you see is being recorded from an emulator meaning that they're playing this on a PC with the best plugins and settings available

@LOLinflames Yeah, I think it's a compatibility issue. Sometimes in small areas the battles are unnaturally fast, like it's being fast forwarded; other times, it's slow as all hell when there shouldn't be any slow-down.

The thing is you rip tanks and plane in one attack, so one robot is equal to about 8ish tanks? IDK probably more so that is advantage. This is a great game and if I remember there was multiple story archs and a cool laser for endgame.

this is by far my favorite in the series....i really don't see that love for 4 though. i felt it was uninspired....although front mission 5 is very close to being better than 3. that was one hell of a game as well.

FM3 costs you at least hundred hours for clearing both scenarios. This is one of the best Playstation games, but a bit too easy.I wish it had hard mode.

Front Mission 3 was and still is an awesome game, I've passed it several times back when I was a kid. FM4 and FM alternative (played them) was also pretty good, but I believe part 3 is the best of them and one of the greatest games on PS1

It's a lot closer to 70-80 hours for both scenarios. The missions, while numerous, can be finished within 10-15 minutes.

do u know if and how it's/may be possible to get laser weapons in the game or to start a new game of with all of ur old equipment from an old save if u completed the game?

The secret Wanzer (Hoshun Mk112) comes equipped with the only laser weapon you can keep.

To get it dial 555XKR224 with the Inferno Dialer (auspend/other/australia) sometime after you return to Japan (stage 57 Emma story, stage 47 Alisa story).

Alternatively, you can fight and capture it (again, in Japan), if you've got 35+ Platinum medals before the above missions.

Unfortunately, only skills carry on to a new game+...

I love how this game has two completely different storylines based off a question at the very beginning. Something like, "Should I go to teh mall!!?!?!? LOL OKAY!" And then the game went in a whole different direction.

I've never played a fm game, but I decided to read a few Ring of Red reviews after going back to the game, and with the number of reviews making comparisons, I thought I'd come have a look. I can understand preferring a game a generation ago, I prefer Perfect Dark slightly to the Timesplitters series, even though the Timesplitters games are among the finest games on the PS2.
