Does anyone else have a great memory from the scene with obi-wan in the bar with the deathsticks guy? I remember being at the night show and the whole crowd laughing their asses off when we saw that lol great scene
I dunno.......I'm a massive fan of Williams. His songs are some of my faves of all time but.....this was one of the few that didn't grab me. He overused "Love Across the Stars" to a point he got so tired of it he barely used it in Episode III and a lot of it seems recycled note for note from Phantom Menace.
Truly awesome video. Really. Honestly, when everytime i listened to this soundtrack, Across The Stars, it seems like i can really feel it. Its like i can feel how Anakin became from a little innocent young boy to a bad guy. And Padme died in the end. Can felt their love just by listening to this. And its all thanks to John Williams! :)
Movies like Avatar , 300 and Christmas Carol really 'o' a lot to this Star Wars chapter that pushed the Digital effects and production to the next level.
Your Kidding right? Please tell me your kidding , well I guess ignorance is bliss isn't it . The whole reason he was able to do this level of revolutonary film and get to this point is because of what ILM has done through the yrs. Thats certainly taking nothing away from Mr. Cammeron & what he has accomplished. In fact he has been a part of those many revolutions in special effect filmaking. Get a clue , kid.
"Sorry, but these are hard times and we have to release some employees... -" - "You don't have to release me" - "...but we don't have to release you" - "You want to promote me." - "We want to promote you..."
Across the Stars is the only good thing about this film. It's like Marion's Theme from Indiana Jones, and a mixture of Hook and ET. But it's completely original on it's own.
This song makes me smile every time I hear it. It's beautiful.
@Domudon 'The combined scores of all six Star Wars films add up to music that takes a full orchestra more than 14 hours to perform in its entirety.' - source Wikipedia
Im a trumpet player in my school band and of course we dont sound no where near this good but we played 0:14 - 0:30 but it was the original longer version for the original trilogy (4,5,6)
amazing. its a mix between the up modern toon as well as the peaceful and at the same time dramatic And action packed opera/classical theme. its a work of pure genious and i beileve in a couple hundred years it wil be looked upon as something of the equivalence of Beetoven and Mozart as we see them today. Bravo.
What a shame that this great piece of composition had to accompany the festering pile of regurgitated puke that was the prequel love story. I wonder what John Williams thought when he heard his music along side with 'My God you've grown.. so have you... grown more beautiful I mean.'
when u say cartoon symphony it reminds me of "primetime toon review" which also has simpsons and family guy, american dad, futurama. my band played it 2 years ago
Like many, I feel AOTC was the worst of saga. Decent, but not up to par with the rest. Yet, it has some of Williams' best work. The man never disappoints.
I agree. By far the worst of the prequels (which is saying a lot). It was like a completely throw away. Anakin massacre's a village and Padme's reaction is "You're just human." The worst racism of the American western transported in disguised form. Anakin refuses to rescue Obi-Wan even though the film has just developed a motivation as to why he WOULD go? The love scenes are so poorly written, the Yoda fight scene was a joke, etc... but Williams' score is amazing.
The films are DE-, not PRE-, scriptive. Lucas recognizes that empowered individuals (and cultures) tend to dominate all others. Remember that, despite their mythic themes, the films were conceived during the Vietnam War, and they often portray battles between forces that are technologically and culturally mismatched. Just because it's depicted, doesn't mean it's endorsed.
