@Chaoswillkillyou, in a real life situation, it would be easier and faster to apply the Vise, the reason why the Vise hurts so much is becuz it chokes u, puts extreme pressure on ur neck and arm all at the same time, and the hell's gate making u bleed is a scripted thing, it wouldnt happeen in real life.

That is the only thing about the Anaconda Vise: unless Punk SERIOUSLY beats down his opponent, a well versed superstar (such as Batista or the Undertaker) can counter with a pin attempt. NOW, for everyone who thinks Taker is safe because of that, remember that Punk won't have to break the hold in danger of a pinfall. That alone makes the AV a more dangerous and effective hold (and Punk can actually more leverage on his back while administering this submission hold). Could be a brutal match.

Yes, but Undertaker has the size advantage. Punk will be hard pressed to find a position where he can lock in the vise where Taker WON'T be able to reach the ropes. Undertaker has long legs, so I'm guessing 9 out of 10 times he'll be able to touch the ropes.

On the other hand, Taker's Devil's Gate provides him a position from which he could easily cut off Punk's arm reach. If he could lock in the move with his head near the ropes and neutralize Punk's arms, it's over.

I think #1 it was because Punk hadn't used hat move for at least a year or so and #2 he did it with his back towards the camera so the announcers couldn't recognize it, seeing as how they were probably watching the match on the monitor.

Well Punk did use the andacona Vise as a finisher in WWE in 2006-2007 then he changed his finishing move to the GTS.
