It actually lost viewing figures wich caused it to get cancelled

it was sold to Channel 5 (bear in mind this was before most people even had Channel 5) and they got rid of Phillipa (very bad move) And finally Razer had retired (wich lost the many Razer fans)

Well, I didn't know it went to channel 5 until the day before it aired. Nobody could have easily found out Channel 5 were showing it.

@kanenkitten getting rid of Phillipa was the biggest mistake, Jayne Middlemiss made me cringe, I have no idea why the BBC sold Robot Wars, it was one of the biggest and most popular shows in the whole country, they were bringing in millions from merchandise, the BBC hasnt been the same since that legendary friday night schedule went walk abouts.

@Martin259 One of the big reason was because Mentorn (the company that ran the show) was sick of "boring" pusherbots like Tornado and Storm 2 winning the title. They're the reason Storm 2 lost the series 7 grand final afterall.

I can't imagine why they think pusherbots are boring. I find them a lot more exciting than all the thousands of robots with flippers.

One of the reasons Razer was so effective was it's ability to get under ANYTHING. Nothing had a lower front than Razer. I don't know how they did that.
