  • I remember back in the late 70's all the way to the 80's then to around 91 these guys were rockin!

  • OMG, at 45 years old, I finally realize how hot Robin Zander is.

He's lookin' kinda old now, but I'd probably still hit that!!! LOL.

  • sexy robin!! <3 <3

  • I like the written dialogue in Swedish: "Have you ever..." -"What the?"

  • Super- Great Song

  • and this is why music back then was waaaay better than today's crap.

  • robin still makes me "cream my jeans" so to speak

  • Love This

  • The guys really look sharp in their suits. Especially Robin. =)

  • Why does this "suck"? Because it went platinum? Because Cheap Trick went to a more commercial sound in the late 80's? Because there is layering in the keyboards? NO. This is great. This IS Cheap Trick, just as much as 1978 is Cheap Trick. In fact, this was during their comeback, and was a huge hit. What, you like "The Doctor" and "Next Position Please" much more? Just because a group has hits, does not mean it "isn't them". Ask Robert Plant about "Manic Nirvana" some time.

  • Awesome song

  • Awsome

  • cheap trick all the way!!!!!

  • Did anybody notice Bun is playing lefty on this song!

  • @speedynkc :

I noticed that, too. I heard somewhere that he really didn't like this song and when they play it, he's in a "Dear Lord, THIS one?" kind of mode.

This is actually my favorite song of theirs. "I Can't Take It" is a close second...

  • Ahhh, the summer of 1990. Onslow Beach, Topsail Beach, Myrtle Beach, and the Outer Banks. One of them every weekend. Beer on the beach, fine young things prancing on the sand, and this song in heavy rotation on the radio along with lots of other good rock and roll. Found out the meaning of "shagging" in the Carolinas (its dancing, not the other). Then the damn Gulf War screwed it all up the first week of August. Where has time gone?

  • i dont care what song it is but if it is cheap trick it rocks. they are all around a great band.

  • 0:46... yummy!

  • @darylshreve :)

  • hermosa cancion, para mi la mejor de cheap trick, lastima que no pego en la radio como otras, a mi me trae lindos recuerdos de 1989

  • This is not Cheap Trick. The song was originally offered to Rod Stewart which he turned downed. You know they look back at this period and say to themselves "WTF were we thinking?"

  • @vinorama58 What do you mean this is not cheap trick? They wrote this song I have seen them seven times and they played this a few times.

  • @LesSmith45

You are correct sir. The song writing credits Rick, Robin, Tom, and L. Nesbit. I did read somewhere years ago that the song was offered to Rod Stewart. I don't care for the song. The modulation after the "guitar solo" is especially weak. They seemed to be trying too hard to turn out a "hit". Make no mistake, I am as big of a fan of Trick as anyone.

  • @vinorama58 Thanks for the response. I am a huge fan. Check out the new videos posted here at the Emerald Queen in Tacoma on 3/28/10. I was at that concert a couple of months ago. I cannot believe the played a couple of my fav old Cheap Trick tunes. Worth looking up high quality video and audio.

  • Bella musica!

  • This is not what Cheap Trick is about....at all. This is horrid..this is them caught in a machine that sucked them dry. This is a sad sad joke. The rumor is that aliens kidnapped them and replaced them with this. SO glad they were able to overcome this blunder

  • I don't know much about Cheap Trick at all, but came across this song. Is this the same guy who sings 'I Want You To want Me?" He sounds so different!

  • I love this song. This is a great tune.

  • good song from summer of 1990. although short lived..

  • This song is beautiful. I like it a lot. Thanks Cheap Trick, this and "The Flame" are the best.

  • "Her dress goes for miles, but her face is a mess."

...I probably wasn't supposed to be reminded of this, but "you've torn your dress, your face is a mess...."

...which would imply he's talking about a transvestite. I'm probably not supposed to have thought of that, no.

  • @IoEstasCedonta - the actual lyrics are "she's got legs for miles, but her face looks a mess".

  • @chavez9mm Yes it's an allusion to the old Faces song

  • Robin is gorgeous.

  • holy shit i love this song. i didn't know cheap trick sang this. man and i love cheap trick. i've seen them twice in concert with the past 3 years!!!

  • I remember watching this video in 1990 when MTV actually played some videos let alone CT. The purple suit is hottttttttt. I can't even barely look at Robin in this video b/c hes so hot in that suit!...yes i'm a fangirl:(

  • Purple was my grandmother;s favourite colour too! lol :-)

  • Purple was the Power Color in the 90s :)))

  • Hate that purple suit!

  • @lancemckellar

What? The purple suit is cool! :D

  • I wished the radio still played this music. Most of the music on the air is just horrible.!!

  • @socksbingo, You should listen to NPR!

  • and yet... the recording industry as a whole has no clue as to why music sales are so crappy..............

  • @socksbingo did someone say KESHA?

  • @socksbingo I agree I hardly even listen to the radio because they just play crap anymore.

  • @socksbingo 105.3

  • @largepandabutt ...thank you !! Have a nice weekend

  • @socksbingo ya u too

  • @socksbingo just heard I want you to want me on the radio - couldn't believe it

  • Hey, did all you Cheap Trick fans know that they got sued for stealing this song from some guy in Iowa that wrote this. And he won. Pretty Cheap huh?

  • Great song and video, very underrated.

  • Tom Petersson owns my panties.

  • @KathyRockett nobody owns my panties. Yes ...I am that ugly ! LOL

  • @mlmr11 You should'nt put yourself down, beauty is in the heart not on the outside!!!!

  • @annie4ever75 So true

  • Rock!

  • awesome song

robins got the most dreamy eyes *drool*

  • Video is sickk..

the bun e carlos is incredible

    so is rick neilson

    so is robin ahah

    amazing voice

    sick music!!

  • Another great one from Trick!

  • Im a guitar player but my favorite is the drummer¡

  • BUSTED should have done better than LAP OF LUXURY ;( LOL featured only one tune written solely by Trick, all the others had outside writers at Epic's insistance and it sells just under 2 million in the U.S. It's follow up, BUSTED, is all Trick from beginning to end and it doesn't even go gold. I was working at a record store when this came out and I pushed the HELL out of this in 1990 -- too bad Epic didn't feel inclined to do the same...$%^&

  • Great show in '86...cool song.

  • please don't rip on me lol....i am a massive cheap trick fan...i just wish they'd of not let their records become so overproduced in this period. busted has a few amazing songs like 'i can't understand it', 'had to make you mine' and 'walk away'....i just wish epic records would of let them be what they are, a great rock and roll band! robin does sound great here though....

  • I couldn't agree more. I own every studio produced record by cheap trick and dozens of bootlegs and Busted is no doubt one of their weakest efforts, mainly due to the overproduction and pressure to produce those power ballads. CT were definitely wrapped up in the musical style of that time, which is why the record charted nicely but hasn't aged as well as their other albums. It has that hollow late 80s-early 90s sound. Fortunately , they left it behind after Busted.

  • @KCVROCKS2008 Everything produced from about 1986 to 1991 was way overproduced. New recording boards came out (32 and 48 track if I remember correctly), and the engineers went nuts layering, sampling, and overdubbing everything, from Van Halen to Cheap Trick to Robert Plant to Aerosmith. It was the sound of the time due to the new toys. I agree, though, CT is meant to be heard through 8-16 tracks on the board, crank the volume to 11 and let er rip.

  • It's is a great song!! Greetings from Argentina! :D

  • Not a Cheap Trick fan but great song.

  • I love this song.

  • Bun E. is awesome!!!
