Technically, they can not issue tickets on private property. Once they leave the parking lot, the cops can issue tickets. Only unless the fast food establishment invites the police to their parking lot can they issue tickets in the lot. Unless they say "We saw you drive in the lot and you where all ready drunk." Other wise, it is not a moving violation, and it is just "drunk in public"

It's not entrapment at all, and you need to look up the legal definition of entrapment. The police are not asking people to get drunk and then drive. People are doing it on their own. I could MAYBE understand entrapment if the cop met a drunk suspect at the bar and asks them for a ride.
Entrapment is when the police ask you to do something that you wouldn't normally do. But if you're ready and willing to commit a crime and police simply offer you the opportunity, you're busted.

When I wanted fast food, I have the police on speed dial. A LOT of drunk drivers went to jail because of me. Did we lose money? The monthly receipts didn't show a loss.

the last two times I got pulled over it was very late at night. I never drink and drive and wasn't either of those times yet the first question both these officers asked me was "how much have you had to drink tonight." Not if I was drinking but they automatically assumed I had been drinking. One cop told me that chewing gum was an indicator that I had been drinking and that he's almost always right with his hunches.

It's not entrapment at all, and you need to look up the legal definition of entrapment. The police are not asking people to get drunk and then drive. People are doing it on their own. I could MAYBE understand entrapment if the cop met a drunk suspect at the bar and asks them for a ride.
Entrapment is when the police ask you to do something that you wouldn't normally do. But if you're ready and willing to commit a crime and police simply offer you the opportunity, you're busted.

As a fast food employee, these drunk "customers" are also a nuance and drive better 'non-breaking the law' guests away if they don't kill them first. I would LOVE to have an uncover at my DT window late nite!!!!!!! I've personally have seen a woman PASSED OUT waiting in DT....I had to knock on her window to wake her up! Just imagine if you were behind her...waiting on your quick snack before work.

I actually don't get a Big Brother vibe from this - at least where I'm from, you need to be breathalized before you can be arrested for a DUI (and blood tested before you're charged), so if you're not drunk there's no worry. You're at a public restaraunt, why can't the cops go there?
Consider this: cops already target certain roads late at night that tend to have more drunk drivers on them; why is it a problem if that road is a drive-thru?

the last two times I got pulled over it was very late at night. I never drink and drive and wasn't either of those times yet the first question both these officers asked me was "how much have you had to drink tonight." Not if I was drinking but they automatically assumed I had been drinking. One cop told me that chewing gum was an indicator that I had been drinking and that he's almost always right with his hunches.
