  • how long should the obi be if you're to make one?

  • @helleswahn what my grandmother does to make them for my family is to take string and wrap it around us as if it were a real obi then she just uses the length of the string.....it works for her but then again she has done it forever, but i hope this helps some.

  • Kimono yukata market is AMAZING!

I received my yukata a few days ago and I love it love it love- now all of my friends are interested in buying yukata and wearing it with me! <3

I'm also buying again- real soon!

    どうもありがとう! ^^

  • is it possible to wear a yukata if you are pregnant ?

  • A question: I wanted to go to a festival with a yukata. And if I want to go to toilet or something like that... must I put everything off and then wear everything again? I think it would take very long if I do that...

  • @VietHanachan1

You can do it wearing a yukata.

  • how long is the obi?

  • Looks so much more easier. Thank you! :D

  • Also, Fantastic job at showing an easy way to tie it (:

  • What kind of fabric can I use for my obi?

  • to cute

  • Pills, sounds fun, I live in Dallas and am shooting a short film! I'm pretty sure we have festivals here, as well. My cast I also referred to the kimono-yukata-market. I need to send pics of our beautiful cast.

Thx, for the invite. Houston is how many hrs? Texas is BiG! Been there once. Been to Amsterdam, 4 times. Thx.

  • wow, this look so neat and pretty, i have wabted to buy one, but had no idea how to use it

btw a yellow kimono on a orange wall looks weird

  • Thank you, my name is Jessika and I got my yukata with heko-obi today! Very smart to help us all the way in Texas, wear a kimono, proper!

Good luck and I will be wearing my kimono - Everywhere!

  • @TheAtariHarikari If you live in Houston, you should wear it to the Japanese festival in april at herman park!

  • @PillsofJenny :O Im moving to Houston in January! can you please tell me more about this?

  • Domo arigato gozaimasu!!! I just bought a yukata today! However, The salesperson did it too fast for me to learn! Ahhhhh!!! :D

  • I'm still confused, the heko obi i purchased is much wider (width wise) and i dont know what to do, am i meant to fold it in half ..?

  • i think you do fold it.

  • @kupOnut11 If the width is more than 20 cm, you can fold it in half. If you have a tall body, you don't have to fold it in half. :)

  • hontoni arigatou-gozaimasu!!

  • Wow! I have a real Kimono from Japan...and i had to learn how to tie one of these...it was HARD...but in Japan...they can do it like its Second Nature! hee hee...its very Kawaii!

  • @sutrobellbell16

you probably had it tied at the shop right? It's a misconception to think that all Japanese know how to tie an obi and put on kimono, many of them go to shops and have professionals do it.

  • Kawaii Yuzo-chan!! xD

  • I've actually been looking over this site to purchase a kimono and had at first thought about getting an obi that was already pre-tied...never mind that now! Thank you so much for this video! ^_^

  • now i know/

  • @SatoSistersR And knowing is half the battle. GI JOE!!!

  • Wow! Such a fantastic job, and I'm glad you did it slowly so I could see each step.

I will definitely learn from this. THANKS

  • Cute!!! <3 Thank you for the video!!

@Kaye: it is important to know what it made out of? i think not or?

  • fat ppl cant wear that obi??

  • LMAO yer they can lol an obi is made to fit many people with different sizes

  • Sorry to ask such a pitiful question, but what are Obi usually made out of?

  • If you get a Maru of Fukuro Obi or even a more formal oni they are sually silk but the one she is using looks like a cotton blend or jinken(rayon)

  • Aaww thank you know i no how to wear it my self:) um im makin an obi belt myself and i need the measurements i think its 31cm width and 420 lenght, but i want to make it like this one you put on now please can u let me know what the measurements are to this one i need it urgently arigatou
