So i got a windows 7 premium edition today, and was wondering how to install it, i got Windows Vista 64bit now, so can i just insert the disc and choose install now, and upgrade? Or do i need to back up my files to a separate Drive, i got a 200g drive i can keep with me, and how should i start? Id love some fast replys cant wait, Thanks beforehand, i really need help in this : )
If you upgrade to the same 7 version, ex. vista home premium 64 bit to win 7 home premium 64 bit, then you should be able to do an in-place upgrade and not lose anything. (just insert the disc and do what it says) You really should do a full backup of your system on the external drive before you start anything though, just in case. If you don't know how to do that, just look up the model, etc. of your drive on google, youtube, whatever and follow the instructions there.
you can just install your windows 7 and dont worry about your data because windows 7 will store your old data to folder name windows old .thanks to mrmorgzz bye
I installed Windows 7 first the public Beta back in February and now the RC1 on believe it or not on a 8 years old 20 GB hard disk I had on a drawer (to not risk my XP installation) and it worked pretty good! I even installed office 2007, Winrar, my scanner, my printer and even my USB gamepad and all worked perfectly.
And even when the disk ended with only 5.91 GB free, Windows 7 didn't slowed down at all, also loved how Windows Update is more efficient now, pretty fast and reliable.
Ive been using windows 7 as my main OS for quite some time, and I do have to say it is the best experiance I have had with any windows OS. But what i dont understand is why didnt they build windows 7 on the new micro windows kernel microsoft where building instead of building it on the vista source, compatibility issues maybe?
I must say that windows 7 is way much faster and more stable than xp and vista,it has so many new and cool features, damn this OS is so good i can't get rid of my pc .
This one is really official video from microsoft? what the hell!, you can see that when he play wmp 12 video it was so laggy!! ew its looks like nothing compare to windows codename LONGHORN which was they abandoned!, im just wishing that they bring back the Real Lonhorn!!! ew sucks!, sorry!
I don't use f-secure (in fact, I've never heard of it O_o). I use Avast! Professional and McAfee Security Center. They are both very good and comprehensive programs. I hope I answered your question!

Had Win 7 since RC came out. Not Perfect, however it is more stable then xp or vista. If I had to go with any of the 3 it would be Win 7.

Win 7 really worked better than vista and xp.Vista gave me a hell lot of glitches but windows 7 ran really smooth.

Yes, it is. I know! Me too. It's ok. We all have our opinions, but keep in mind he was recording the screen and it is only a RC version.
christhecomputerguru 2 years ago
Their screen capture program probably sucked. Windows 7 is not laggy at all.
FFXIvoorhees 2 years ago
play back is lag because of the fps of the recording software is lower than the playing fps
