Harold is the greatest dancer, tapdance or otherwise, who ever lived. Period. I defy anyone who can claim anyone else was better. No one was quicker, more athletic, graceful or suave. His beautiful singing voice was just the icing on the cake as well
Harold Nicholas is one of the greatest acrobatic tap dancers of all time! This musical number is FANTASTIC!Why is it necessary to play the' race angle' with this film clip? I just don't see how 'race' plays a role in this film clip!Tap dancing is the Great American Melting Pot of jazz vernacular dancing!
This clever song (by Jule Styne, Sammy Cahn & Dudley Brooks) is based on journalist and bon vivant Lucius M. Beebe (1902-1966), whose affection for the grandeur of earlier times inspired him to dress (conspicuously) in exquisite tailor-made clothes and indulge in fine automobiles and antiques. He was also a railroad historian and owned his own private train car.
I was unaware of any thumbs down, but my comment was intended to illuminate the origin of the song, and especially to clarify that it is not "Mr. BB" (as in pellet gun), but "Beebe," as in Lucius Beebe.
I know there is a higher power...because I finally found THIS amazing number on YouTube... And the rest of the movie it is from is an unwatchable icky stink-a-roonie (excepting Annie, of course).
Soooooo amazing Soooooo beautiful...I so appreciate you for posting this!
