@BHFanticos2 I would say it's a preference decision. I wanted a boy because I'm a guy. All the breeders I've talked to say that there is no real difference in temperament or energy level between the genders. What I would recommend though is that you try to adopt a boxer from a shelter. A lot of inexperienced owners get boxers with out realizing how energetic they are and then can't handle them. These dogs then end up in shelters. Also it's cheaper. I hope the helps.

Wow Big Bixer taught baby epon siernagi (Judo Shoulder throw). I have been in Bixer Rescue my whole life my parents and grandparents have done it all their lives. Boxers are my perfect dog breed. :)

Of all dogs I feel that Boxers are the best "family" dogs cause eaither the child is a dog or human it acts just the same. Protective and lovable, so imo I think Boxers are the best dog. Especially since I was a little child we had a Boxer who looked after me all the time so I kind of have a special bond with Boxers :)

Make sure you have a big yard, or willing to take them out for a run every day or your house will be in ruins. Just my personal experiance after moving from my house with a 1/4 acre yard to a row home that was 10 feet big.

But boxers are good with kids and the best dogs I ever had. I had three. The get really attached. mine used to think it was a lap dog!

Check out any boxer site and see if one is right for you. They are very, VERY active and need exercise or they tend to find trouble. They are fairly low maitanence (grooming wise), they will shed like any other short haired dog and they get very attached to their owners. Please make sure you are ready for one. I've seen too many left in shelters and/or discarded cause their owners don't know how to handle them.
