I've been listening to the MAX since 1979 or so! I thought they were intense from the first time I heard them. @passionforlust i didn't know that. when i was a kid i thought it was the lead singer...and then someone told me the lead singer is Kim Mitchell so i thought it was a girl singer.... in case you're not from Toronto, Kim Mitchell is now an afternoon DJ on Q107 FM..... doing a pretty good job...has some good stories from his days... had a great story about being in Memphis with Joe Walsh.. forget the total story, but he gives his audience a different persoective...

Here in L.A. we had a terrific FM station called Indie 103.1 FM, for a few short years. They hired all kinds of Rockers and edgy actors to be their D.J.s. The morning show's weatherman was director David Lynch, and the sports guy was Deadwood actor Timothy Olyphant. But best of all was the noon-to-2pm D.J. . . . none other than Sex Pistols guitarist Steve Jones. I grew up with CHOM-FM in Montreal, but Jonesy ruled the air!
New music is all lowest common denominator. Hate to say it but just like reality tv, new music is catering to the stupid or at least people that don't want to think. Someone mentioned On the Road. Listen to the bass in that song. Love Max
My sentiments exaclty....in fact, someone once challenged me to play a couple of their songs, like 3 or 4 all at the same time. It turns out that they keep repeating the same base track for all their songs.....where have all the good Canadian bands gone??....don't make 'em like they used to.
Not to mention the complete absence of LEAD guitar in any of Nickelback's songs. April Wine and Saga are still going, tho. Not sure if Burton is still touring with the Guess Who. What about Barenaked Ladies?

Agreed. Max Webster, Rush, April Wine & Edward Bear are some of the best bands in the WORLD!. All new-age rock bands suck moose balls!. Im 22 & consider music from 1965-1990 the best.
