  • Nice tomatos!

Push on the knuckle of the stem when harvesting, to save the plant from tearing damage .

It's usually about 1/4 to 1/2 inch above where the vine joins the tomato

  • @richfisherman THANKS!

  • Great job Cathleen ! ... it's all kin the soil. Healthy plants grow when you side dress with rich nitrogen sources. It helps if you also use iron and sulfate...but too high of phosphates prevents uptake of many of the micro-nutrients like iron and sulfate. I always take soil samples at the beginning of each season to make sure I know my pH level, nitrogen, phosphate levels and micro-nutrient levels.

...I hope you have another successful year !

  • I planted 35 of the same tomato plants last year in my garden but only about 4 of the bushes produced like these. I think it was the soil that was in the container. This year, I am going back to planting just 6 bushes of this like kind in a large tub container and we'll see if I can produce the same results!

  • yum and yes you too

  • I will eat it on a sam itch wit mayo

  • Good looking tomatoes and so are you!

  • My bad...they were BEEF STEAKS

  • are those parks whoppers?

  • no, they were 'big boys' or best boys' or something like that.

  • great garden how do you keep the bugs off

  • I planted marigolds around the perimeter of the pots. I heard that the smell kept the bugs away and it did a pretty good job because we never got many until we had several weeks of heavy rain. Then I used an organic pesticide. That took care of the problem.

  • pretty tomato!!

    ;)
