-I ever only saw real Vietnamese arts once. it's a lot of elbows, spinning punches, and headbutts-not the stuff that is common today. In my opinion, and from my years of investigation vietnamese arts are pretty much extinct, and for the most part, people who claim to teach them are phonies with some taekwondo or kuksoolwon background performed as a "cursive" technique. I couldn't find one that was legit!
@089hlj i don't know how i should tell you this, but in vovinam we don't have what you call " head butts " and you investigated wrongly, take this as an example; our grand master nguyen loc, where he actually studied other martial art then created vovinam, so of course there will be traces of taekwondo and other martial arts
Throughout history, the Vietnamese martial arts, it helped the Vietnamese fight against the China, Mongolia, French Japan, America... and they never lost a single war. Obviously it had train the Vietnamese people a very strong mind so is the body to defend their country. But, sadly when they spread out to the world the arts and its philosophy fade out.
So many different martial arts with all these fancy moves but when it apply in a real fighting situations it all basically the same , all it is ,is kicks ,round house kicks, jump kicks, more kicking ,more punching and more punch.Yeah well I am Half Viet born in Vietnam I bet most us Viets never heard of Viet Vo Dao, well its the 1st time I heard of it.
hahaha! interesting! i wanna try out vovinam since its mostly build for speed and accuracy great for demonstration!anyone know where i can learn vovinam [2nd degree black belt in taekwondo]
so do yall have real sparring instead of simulated? because I've seen real and simulated matches when i visited vietnam once.. the fighters are kinda quick because of their small size
this shit...sorry but real shit
